The WORST GOLF CLUB Ive ever dealt with! Their no walk-ins and pre-pay only policy is extremely inflexible. I pre-paid for a mixed pennants practice game which didnt eventuate because they closed the course due to heavy rain. They reluctantly offered a credit which I took up yesterday. We just started our round and the massive storm cell came through with lightning and drenching fairways and greens. We couldnt even finished the 1st hole. They stopped play as there was lightning around. We decided to call it quits as there was more storm warning. Went back to the pro shop with the reasonable hope that we can have a credit and come back to play on a better day. The pro shop guy was rather rude and said sorry no refund no credit the course isnt closed yet you can wait around until the storm moves on. We are visitors from an hour away, were already soaked, and didnt want to play in such horrid conditions. We asked if we can at least get our cart fee $50 back as we couldnt even finish the 1st hole, we only hit 3 shots. The pro shop guy just said no, tough luck, we dont give any refund. Once youve paid youre done whether you play or not. Most decent golf courses would at least offer a credit to come back another day. We wouldnt mind if we actually got to play a few holes, but only hitting 3 shots, thats beyond ridiculous. It appears that Muirfield is in the business of taking your money and not providing the service. I have heard some bad things about them but this just tops it. It was my first time trying the course. I would have liked to play more than 3 shots. Ive golfed all around the world and organised many social golfing groups, unfortunately Muirfield will never be on my list of recommendations. It is extremely disappointing but I hope that they will enjoy my $150 donation as that will be the only money they will ever get from me.

Muirfield is a fantastic course. The greens are generous and the fairways are quite nice. When we played the greens were recovering from their winter coring, but the roll was very consistent on all the greens. Despite the dry weather, the greens were extremely lush. There are 2 very long par 4's and a few short par 4's. Overall the course is quite challenging and well worth heading out. As others have said, the clubhouse is fantastic and the view over the 16th and 18th greens is brilliant. Played again on the 1st of July and the course and greens are in fantastic condition.

Very well maintained and green. Muirfield is a fantastic and very green golf course. The greens are generous and vast and the fairways are quite nice. Easy to drive cart too. We took cart and enjoyed driving on path and greens. When we played the greens were good as it rained recently. The roll was very consistent and smooth on all the greens. Despite the cloudy weather, the greens were looking extremely lush and scenic. There are 2 very long par 4's and a few short par 4's. Overall the course is quite challenging and well worth playing out. As some other mentioned, the golf club is fantastic and very good and the view over some of the holes are very beautiful specifically the 16th and 18th greens is really nice and beautiful. My son is member here and the course and greens are always fantastic and green.
