Argenton Hotel reviews

5 Star Review by Sam Behrens

We met up with friends on a Sunday night. The kids had a blast playing in the playground. The food was excellent; my steak was cooked perfectly. Table service was also prompt. Overall, 5 out of 5 stars. (Not sure what the 1-star reviewers are talking about!)

3 Star Review by JD Brand

One of the best hotels for children to play, has a large playground and a sizeable dining area next to it, Kids area is also open from 10am to 10pm which makes it amazing for families, as for the waitresses they are not the nicest of people around, the food was cold and 2 drops of gravy, the table we sat on was dirty (real dirty) no one cleaned it so we ended up doing it. Because of these pitfalls 3/5. lets see if anything changes the next time I go.

4 Star Review by Ruary Muirhead

I have enjoyed several visits to this great hotel which has a very good selection of beers, superb food and a fabulous play area for kids. Disappointingly though on the last visit, despite it being quiet, food service was uncharacteristically slow and the Four Pines Pale Ale we enjoyed wasn't available for a second round. It was Monday so assume the result of a busy weekend.

5 Star Review by Trollie

The food portions were great. Prices were fair and the kids had a ball on the play equipment. The kitchen was up front with the wait time and delivered a great meal. Would recommend for family's with kids

4 Star Review by Leah Cutler

Great kids play area. Food not bad and amicable prices. Meat tray raffels and very enjoyable live music. An easy Friday night with kids for sure.

3 Star Review by Emma Sharkey

Nicely renovated pub with a great outdoor area and playground for the kids. Food and service were okay. A non-advertised 15% sunday surcharge is excessive on an already over-priced menu.

5 Star Review by Theresa Hutton

Great place took grandchildren for lunch and a play xx

2 Star Review by Micheal Scholes

Food is a bit on the expensive side but quality is ok. A great kids area undercover is a great draw card. What is very disappointing is a 15% surcharge on a Sunday that is not advertised externally or on the printed menus. This is on top of the eftpos surcharge, which is also not advertised externally or on the printed menus. It makes dining far too expensive for a family of 4.

4 Star Review by Peter Thornberry

Enjoyed having a quiet drink in a peaceful and respectful place.

2 Star Review by Carole Raby

Went for dinner with my granddaughter as there is a play area she can enjoy. So loud! Music blaring, volume way too high for a restaurant, then a live singer started up, just as loud! On top ofvthis an enormous TV screen which it was impossible to ignore showing the cricket ! No class ! Granddaughter had kiddies nuggets and chips. She LOVES chips, but these were dry as a bone, tasted precooked, and she could not eat them. Don't blame her as I couldn't eat them either. So $10 for 6 frozen nuggets! Is that a bargain ....NOT! I had the vegetable pasta, very bland. All in all a disappointing visit. Had to leave earlier than I normally because of the music!
