Shamrock Hotel reviews

2 Star Review by Karen Stiller

Check in person needs to be taught people skills. Fire in the bar a nice touch. Bar staff helpful and friendly. Meal was pub quality. We could not get the air-con to keep working. The carpet in room was dirty and room had a strange smell. Would not stay again however Okay for 2 stars.

Only 1 drinking glass in room, coffee cups were not clean still had coffee stains in bottom of cups obviously not washed, toilet seat is broken. Mud left on carpet, mirrors were disgusting and our chips for dinner were stone cold not far from being frozen.

For the price we paid per not Not worth it at all!! Filthy rooms, full of dirt and dust, hospital dressings stuck on the wall. If you have allergies or respiratory issues do not stay here you won't be able to breath at night.

2 Star Review by Bob S

Spend the extra bit of money and go elsewhere, overpriced. Stayed there a few nights ago, was the cheapest available on accommodation site. Obvious issues security door with no lock, cobwebs in ceiling corner, dead flies on window ledge, toilet paper dispenser (for flat paper of which there was none provided, only round rolls which wouldnt operate in it), strands of hair on wall near toilet, traces of soap still in shower soap holder, room in desperate need of upgrade and no internet still (previous complaint 4 days earlier?????) The biggest concern was an empty smoke alarm bracket on the ceiling (smoke alarm found in a drawer unusable) which highlights the duty of care management have for users of the rooms.

Dirty room with bugs I dont know what the owner and cleaning staff are thinking when they allow a room to be sold in this state - obviously from other reviews they are happy running a filthy motel I also hope that they appreciate their wonderful bar staff who had to deal with the situation on arrival When they saw that there were bugs running around in the bed - mouse poo on the pillows - toothpaste in the sink - dirty surfaces and grime they were apologetic and tried to relocate us without luck unfortunately - while we went to have dinner the lovely young lady cleaned the room for us - they also refunded our full rate which was appreciated and necessary Do not stay here !!!
