Surveyor General Hotel reviews
4 Star Review by Julia K
I've had some very good pub meals here over the years. Love the big pickle that comes with the fish and chips. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere too, although some of the seating is not that comfortable and the dining areas can be cold if you're not near the fire. On a recent visit we tried the desserts and my much anticipated Milo tart was not fresh. It tasted like freezer burn, awful. Would be 5 stars if not for this.

Went for lunch on a long weekend. It was busy but the staff were excellent. Ordering our food was quick and easy. The tables were cleaned as soon as they were vacated. We had to wait a while for our food but considering how busy they were, it wasn't too long a wait. When the food arrived it was hot and fresh and delicious. Meal portions were good value. Staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. Toilets were clean. Great atmosphere. We've been before and will be going back again soon.

We have been here about 10yrs ago and it was good. Our recent visit though was extremely disappointing. The fish was cold and the chips were hardly cooked and the advertised salad that comes with the meal was about five pieces of lettuce drenched in dressing. There was no tomato, cucumber, onion or anything, just lettuce! My son ordered a bucket of chips (as advertised on the menu board) for $10. What he got was a SMALL plate of chips that werent cooked properly. We will never be going here again again after speaking with some local people, apparently they dont like the food either! So disappointing.

A great little country pub. Its a sandstone building in an iconic spot in the middle of historic Berrima. Good variety of meals and probably spans across anyones budget. Friendly staff that are always welcoming, super efficient and polite. Also central to the rest of the highlands. I always take clients, guests and friends and they all enjoy it!
