I actually remember the first time I went to the Family hotel in Carrathool. It was about October 1999 and I was participating in a bucks party mystery tour. I particularly remember the floor in the barroom. It had a graceful, gentle slope towards the bar from the doorway and the walls of the barroom. Whether this was a submissive marketing ploy established by the publican in order to gravitationally bolster sales from the patrons or just an ageing of the floor structure remains to be seen. Come to think of it. Because of by the end of the nights proceedings I certainly had consumed my fair share of "Congratulations, your getting married" liquid portions of the festivities. The gradual sloping floor structure may have just been a figment of my imagination. Regardless of that. This was certainly a well established pub that obviously was held in high regard by the patrons. Either by the local people or the visiting patrons such as myself. I enjoyed the Family hotel. It was a hell of a nice place to be.
