4 Star Review by Kama Dooley
Beautiful big rooms. So spacious. Clean. Special touches like your toilet paper stamped down. Special touches! Could use a paint to freshen up. Right on the river. Beautiful spot. Quiet. I didn't like not being able to check in at the sight and having to drive, while only a short distance, down to the pub. After a long trip it's not what we wanted to be treated with.

My partner and I have just stayed here the last 2 night's & had a wonderful time the room was clean & tastefully furnished. The Spa Bath is so relaxing we used it quite a few time's. The view out over the river was spectacular the Sunset last night was outstanding . This was our 3rd stay here & we will be back.

Situated a number of kms north of Taree and about 9kms from the highway and on the river is Harrington River Lodge. The property is extensive, incorporating Harrigans Irish Pub and surrounded by lovely lawns, gardens and pathways. Our building housed 9 rooms (or rather suites), a very large bed/sitting room with king bed, large bathroom with a shower and bath and an entrance hallway which included the small kitchenette. All furniture and fittings are first class. Dinner st Harrigans is available from 5.30pm, has an extensive menu and was very nice. We'll look forward to another opportunity to plan this overnighter in our itinerary.

Unfortunately we didn't get to stay here. There was an error in the booking dates (unclear if this was our fault or the fault of the booking system we used. It was not the fault of Harrington). We called Harrington River Lodge to see if we could work something out because the booking was accidentally made 20 days earlier than we needed it. We didn't even know it had been booked on the wrong date until we got an email asking us to rate our stay. We spoke to some nice staff at the River Lodge who stated they would be able to move our booking to the date we needed as they could see we paid good money but never stayed there. It was a genuine error and one that we hoped someone would be understanding about. Unfortunately two people who work in management at the River Lodge (Alex and Jamie) decided that they would not move our booking to the date we needed (despite us offering to pay the increase in rates) but rather keep our money and request that we book another room and pay the whole fee again. Alex stated that it was not an error on their end so they had no obligation to help us. I agree that they had no 'obligation', but a little understanding and assistance would have gone a long way. Unfortunately we have to find somewhere else to stay for the engagement party that we are going to Harrington for. This will be our first time visiting Harrington and I can say that I don't have great first impressions.

Loved our time there. The place could do with a little maintenance and the restaurant onsite had a problem with no chef which was disappointing but an amazing place and river walk

Just stayed 2 nights at Harrigans River Lodge. Very disappointed with the pubs menu of only 5 options of meals, turned up for breakfast one morning and no chef was there. Fresh towels were supplied but bed linen wasnt made. Disappointed considering the amount we paid. Beautiful view tho
