The Royal Hotel is a must visit/stay over. You will step back in time with the decor. I had a very enjoyable 3 night stay. A cosy room with a view & a comfy bed. Time your visit with the restaurant opening hours as the food is excellent. Sunday roast is a must have. Staff are very friendly & helpful. The live music & guest speaker were a pleasant surprise. Special thanks to my hosts Howard & Andrew who made me feel very welcome. Dungog is a lovely town & I will visit again & stay at The Royal Hotel.

Had a wonderful Friday night at the Royal. I was very surprised to find a chicken katsu curry on the menu which was delicious! My mum had the beef stew which was rich and warm and welcome on a cool late winter evening. Followed up with a rich sticky date pudding and live music. Great night out.

A Sunday lunch at The Royal is a real treat! We sat out on the garden deck and enjoyed a sunny winters day with a delicious roast. The place is spotless, the staff are lovely and did I mention the food is terrific! Highly recommended as a destination for a Sunday drive!

Stayed at the Royal while on a motorcycle ride for a night. Had Been 12 years since my last stay. With new owners this year they certainly have renovated and improved the place while still keeping the old fashioned style . Clean rooms good beds and great amenities . Well worth a look !

A warm and genuine hospitality experience. The team catered to our every issue, even helping to find options for our popped tyre from the road in. Clean rooms, bathrooms, and well stocked kitchen with basics including capsule coffee for a quick pick me up! Hoping to stay longer next time, a nice walk along the Main Street to local restaurants and the brewery. You wont be disappointed with your stay here. Aircon keeps your room nice and cool in the summer.

Under new management, all repainted and decorated, aircon rooms, brand new beds, mattresses and sheets, mix of new furniture and antiques, retro styled, this place is a must-see.
