Great local pub. Pretty standard pub menu but dont be misled. Food really well done and nice atmosphere. Staff obliging and friendly. Drinks well priced. Good value and fun experience.

Lovely space on a Friday night. A couple of wines and dinner on the top balcony, very cosy on a cold night
5 Star Review by Robert Nordon
Friendly local pub with heaps of different areas for everyone, from a bar at the front, a lounge area further in, and a big family friendly area upstairs with a big balcony. Food is always a winner here with generous portions. Well worth a visit.

The day our group of walkers met at the Red Lion for lunch & a few drinks, we were expecting a good time. Sadly, our prior notification of numbers of people, with a pre-organized meals to names list, went unplanned & un-organized. Our numbers threw a spanner in the pubs works. Missed meals, wrong meals. Not enough staff to do either food or drinks. The kitchen, just could not cope. Schnitzels too thick, pulled chicken that wasn't pulled! Etc, etc. With all the pre-notification the pub had; there was no excuse for such a shabby experience.

Waited 1.5hrs for our food. First thing that came out was the wrong order so we had to send it back. Staff was not very apologetic about the wait or the wrong order. Food was average. As the sun set we were sitting in the dark on the balcony and had to ask the waiter to turn on the lights. It was ok but wouldn't come again.

Why pay $7.00 for a Schooner, when the pub 200 metres down the road is $5.00!!
