Drifters Wharf reviews

First time visiting Drifters Wharf at Gosford today for lunch. The venue is in a fantastic location right on Gosford Waterfront. Prices are on the high side however the food was okay. Service was reasonably friendly. I tried the "Smoke on the Water" pizza for $26. It was nice however the crusts were extremely tough. I am not sure it quite lived up to the price.

Good, not great. Maybe I just ordered the wrong dishes as other members of our party were happy. I ordered the calamari entree and squid sub. Unfortunately either the photos or description were not overly accurate. Effectively just battered calamari for both despite they pictures alluding to grilled squid(particularly for the squid sub). The sauce on the squid sub wasn't pleasant and was overpowering. A few lettuce leaves accompanied the sub. The bread for the sub was way too big and was hard/crusty and wasnt worthwhile eating with the fried squid. Stranglely the sub was cheaper than the entree calamari and looking over the menu the prices were generally on the high side. The venue itself offer great views and the staff were all friendly and helpful. I'll give the venue another go for lunch and try another menu item.

Great atmosphere and service. Good selection of drinks and food servings are good. The location is great but limited on premises car parking. We had a great experience thanks to our host Steven, he was friendly and all smiles. Will visit again.

Good spot for a work lunch as there is plenty of room and tables are not bunched together. Solid waters views, which would be super nice on a sunny day. The decor of the joint is 80s beach theme, could do with a major reno. The cheeseburger and fries were really good, I was surprised. Cooked well and tasty and burger had a nice crust on it and juicy. Service was friendly and efficient. Parking onsite

Been wanting to try it out for a wile now. We had kipfler potatoes, garden salad and a seafood pot. The potatoes were good, the salad was nice but no tomato or cucumber like the picture indicated, steer away from the seafood pot for $40 it was very watery. Would have expected a white wine. garlic, butter and herb sauce instead a very watery broth (barely a broth). Would come back but stick to burgers and perhaps pizza. The 4 stars are mainly for atmosphere and friendly service.

The staff are so relaxed and friendly. Food wasn't anything special but nonetheless worth coming back.

Very worth a visit here, especially if you can get a sunset spot on the balcony. It fills up fast. We loved our dinner here. We tried all three desserts on the menu and would recommend each of them. We had delicious, tastefully plated seafood and salads, which were all fantastic! The atmosphere in this place was great. The music was at a perfect level where if you have a baby you won't feel concerned about them crying and drawing attention. People won't notice so much. A further recommendation for bringing a baby here is that the security guard greeted us enthusiastically and offered to help carry our pram up the front steps. Awesome! He carried it back down when we left, too. The decor here is great. The plants and chandelier along with ocean themed trinkets are alluring and quaint. The staff are exceedingly friendly and accommodating. The music set an excellent backdrop for conversation and even dancing...

Not sure what they are trying to achieve here, but it misses the mark, whatever it us. The music was so loud you had to scream your order to the barman and hope he heard the details of your allergies, something you generally don't want to scream out in public. The mountain pepper and salt squid was nice, but nothing special. The 250g sirloin although well cooked, was thin and what you would expect on Thursday night $12 steak night at the Bayside, definitely not worth the $35 they charge. The "House Salad" was 3 slices of cucumber and some browning rocket, so not a salad. The chips were nice. The staff were nice and friendly, and the service was quick, and the location is beautiful
