Holiday Inn Darling Harbour reviews
1 Star Review by Dave Donaldson
Nice room but be very careful. They get you to sign to take $50 if there is a problem. Be careful. Paid for my rooms in March and stayed end of May for Vivid - 1 one night. They took nearly $700 out of my bank and to this day 14 June am still trying to get it back. Have spoken to the staff many times over the past few weeks who keep telling me they are refunding my money but it never happens. I actually didn't own them anything. Would strongly not use this Hotel. Doesn't even deserve one star.

The only good thing is, that the hotel is nearby Darling Harbour, a good start for sightseeing in Sydney. Rooms need a urgent renovation, they are completely down. Breakfast is the worst I have ever had. Facility reminds me sitting in a waiting hall of a station, tables and dishes were dirty. I could not eat anything due to that awful experience. Totally overpriced. Never paid such a high price for such a poor quality. Holiday Inn disappointed me. I could not trust in that brand anymore as an IHG member.

Never stayed at hotel before and was pleasantly surprised to get room upgrade on arrival to junior suite. Room was clean and well presented, not much wardrobe space but we only stayed only 1 night, if was staying longer would have expected better storage. Mini bar didn't have much and to get any hotel and local information you have to use tv via remote which was troublesome. Great bathroom with bath and separate shower. No room service, but loads of restaurants in area. All in all for Sydney CBD it was OK and as expected, not overly great but definitely not bad.

Reached Sydney in the night and was shocked to know that my booking in a nearby hotel got cancelled and had to check in to this place though the cost was high. Was pleasantly greeted by the night manager and the next morning when I had to extend my stay for two more days and there were no rooms available, I was helped enormously bythis angel called "Tiffany" at the front office and got me the room allotted for the required period and also guided me about the places nearby. Thank you so much "Tiffany for making my trip to Sydney a memorable one and look forward to visit this hotel again just for the pleasant hospitality.

Lovely room, no problem with service at check in. Close to downtown and shopping. Full breakfast included which was very good. Problem was shortage of experienced staff to work the dining room. Ran out of coffee mugs and I asked the young girl there and she didn't know what a mug was. Then she pointed to the cupboard under the coffee machine and I had to find a mug. Then there was no bowls and the coffee machine ran out of milk which seemed to cause some confusion among staff. Overall the dining room could have been better managed. Hotel located in Chinatown so if you aren't into that kind of food it's a walk further into Darling Harbour for an English menu.

Booked a 3 night stay and this is probably the worst view out of all my travels. I chose this hotel for its location but if I knew, i would have booked somewhere else and would have gotten an apartment with a balcony where it would not have felt claustrophobic. Room price was not cheapest and it's peak season so there's no hope of changing to another room.

Super polite front-desk staff that helped us with reservations, travel accommodations, and an attached breakfast area!

My most pleasant stay in Australia was at Holiday Inn, Darling Harbor. Worth every penny. The rooms are adequately sized and clean, the front-desk staff is excellent and top notch. Very polite and very helpful and always available. The breakfast buffet spread was just outstanding- it had everything from eggs and meat to salad and cheese, all very delicious. They have a little gym too to get a quick workout in. Overall, a very pleasant experience. Thank you once again to the amazing staff for making it so!

Had a good stay for three days. Reported a wobbling toilet seat. They changed it. House keeping came to check if we needed anything..I am always very critic, by this time all went well.
