It was good. Food portions where generous and tasty. Drinks where cold. TAB was doing a roaring trade being Melbourne cup day. We will be back.

Stopped for dinner after long day in car had bangers with chips and veg. A great feed with sausages from butcher next door some of the best I have had. Service was great very friendly will definitely go again. Night culminating with a terrific thank you from l believe was owner/manager .

Lovely meals, I had the garlic prawns and hubby had the seafood combination. Despite them being very busy, meals arrived promptly and piping hot. I understand the new owners have only had the business for a week - can only say keep up the good work.

Can't recommend this establishment whatsoever... My partner and I came to the Howlong Hotel to eat dinner for her birthday, we both ordered the chicken parmigiana with a side of chips & gravy for $54 not including drinks. We sat down after we ordered and our meals arrived not long after. When our plates were sat down on our table we both looked at each other and could instantly tell what the other was thinking. "where's the rest?" $54 for the smallest parmi I've ever seen, a handful of undercooked chips and the smallest tub of gravy that looked like it was for a baby. We noticed other patrons with more food on their plate so clearly only regulars get the amount on the plate that justifies the price. Massive steak and a LOT of chips. I will give them this, the parmi was pretty good but for that price it needs to be bigger. Also might want to consider changing your ham as we could barely taste it. The gravy was nice but almost none came with the $2.50 cost of it. All of came out quite hot but there needs to more of it.

Restraunt is relaxed and more than reasonable with the food generous and tasteful. Bar flys out the front are raucous but not rude. Barman Andrew is reserved, respectful and will have a quiet chat when time permits. Will be returning.
