Carrington Hotel reviews

5 Star Review by April

Cant get a better location in Katoomba than the Carrington Hotel. The hotel itself is beautiful. I was taken aback at how beautiful the old school charm was. I even took pics (and I dont take pics of inside hotels often). Its quiet special. The rooms are very comfortable (even with no streaming services). Beds SUPER comfy. I stayed in the room with the bathroom down the hall. Dont let that put you off, as you still get your own toilet and shower and sink. Just a bit bright in the middle of the night when you do have to walk it. But its not a problem really and saves you some serious cash. Therefore making a stay in the hotel affordable to those with less money (like myself, luckily ) Staff were lovely. I give this hotel 5/5.

I've never stayed in a place like this before, its a beautiful old hotel with lots of character. Completely restored to resembled what it would have looked like in its early days with the modern touches required. The rooms are extremely spacious and fresh. Once checked in, I made my way down to the lobby where there is a fire place and a series of different rooms which you can check out such as a pool room, a library, a bar, a big dinning room and little quite rooms where you can have a wine or enjoy a book. The price was surprising inexpensive.

Old world charm, wonderful friendly staff, comfortable rooms - all true. But what stood out was the dinner in the main dining room. The meal was superb. Best my wife and I have ever had in 50 years of travelling. The Chef has the magic - thank you for a true gastronomic experience.

Fabulous Devonshire tea in beautiful surroundings Excellent latte - strong but only slightly bitter, good round flavour. (Actually the only decent coffee I've had in the mountains). Great scones and jam! Highly recommend for outing with mum or girlfriend/s (Note I didn't stay here so my rooms rating is only for the public rooms on ground floor) They don't open for tea until 11am so I spent a lovely half an hour meandering through their grounds taking photos - the Spring blooms are just gorgeous

Currently staying at the Carrington and it is in a great spot. We are staying in one of the Premier View Rooms and its very comfortable. Our room is however right next to the lift and being an old building it has an old lift which can be fairly noisy. If you plan on staying at the Carrington would suggest you request a room a little distance from the lifts. You will pay the same price but have a quieter and more enjoyable stay. Staff couldnt assist with an alternative room as they are apparently full up. Update:::Another room has been found which is much appreciated. Thank you to management and staff for your understanding

Disappointing. Paid $325 for Premier Spa room - spa not working. No Porter or help with luggage to room. No phone, no a/c but windows that open but no screens. Flies a problems in Katoomba at present. Room chair is a straight backed dining room chair, uncomfortable. We expected better
