Caledonian Hotel reviews

There is a cool concept of a cocktail lounge. There is no cocktail menu in the main bar. If you want to order a cocktail you have to go into the cocktail lounge, read them off the board and comes back to order. I dont feel that the menu is the right one for the area. Its very restrictive, you can have steak or middle eastern food. I like middle eastern food but there was nothing on the menu I wanted. My partner tried it was was disappointed. The restaurant area was outdated.

No atmosphere unless you like the 80's look . Their chips taste so horrible. Like they're not made from potatoes. Just moosh. $9 for chips (with sauce $12) Friendly staff.

When the owners hired staff for his other business entrepreneur ventures, he disrespects them to get out of paying wages. Two faced creeps.

The new owners have done a fantastic job! Great food, great service, great atmosphere. EASILY the best pub experience in Maitland!

5 Star Review by Paul Mckenzie

The chips were cold with both of our meals . I booked a table for 2 and was incorrectly booked I was given a table for 8 . So I swapped the name tags . . The plates need to be bigger for the size of the meals . and the price of a Schooner is a joke $ 8

Went there for dinner last night the food was edible but nothing more. Chips appeared to be the crinkle cut chips from the frozen section. Seating is extremely limited, more like a dining hall with an excessive amount of dead / dried flowers. Toilets are right next to where you order your food. No pokies or atmosphere, menu doesn't make sense its the wrong menu and location for that type of establishment. It needs to be thought out more.
