5 Star Review by Amy McLean

Family of 10 (7 adults, 15yr old, 6yr old & 2yr old) ate here for a birthday dinner tonight. Yes, might be priced at the higher end of pub meals but the service, drinks, food & decor were all at the top end of pub standards too! Every one of us was very happy with our meals. I am quite fussy and was extremely happy with my eye fillet cooked perfectly, great meal overall 10/10. The kitchen and staff were very busy but the service was very good Layla deserves a special mention for her lovely and professional manner. Little ones appreciated the unique and well designed childrens area I havent seen one like it before. Will definitely recommend this lovely hotel to others.

3 Star Review by Alex Webb

Service was excellent, great craft beer selection, atmosphere was great and kids play area really good. Felt a little let down by the food, wasn't as good as I heard it was. Tried pizza, schnitzel, risotto, and catch of the day, all a little under par. I would say the terrine/salami starter board was great though, so that's a winner. All In all, a great lunch out with friends and family.

Had lunch there today with a girlfriend and all I can say is "WOW!" I ordered a Zucchini & Goats Cheese Salad from the specials board and the Chef was more than happy to swap out an element for my diet. It was delicious and super generous. The service from bar to table was outstanding. Special thanks to Rowena for really looking after us.

3 Star Review by Allie Elliott

Good vibe but definitely very overpriced. We enjoyed our pizza and parmy but ordered the beer battered prawns for entree and were pretty disappointed. Paid $18 for 4 battered prawns with a side of mayo and pile of seasoned salt. This price is pretty outrageous for 4 prawns total at a pub. Beer selection is decent but we were paying upwards of $20 for 2x schooners every round. Overall good spot and enjoyed ourselves but disappointed at the price point.

Had the absolute best experience at the prince of wales this evening. Have to say, and I dont want to under play this statement- best green beans in Newcastle. Hands down. Crispy, buttery with a light garlic dazzle. A game changer one might say.

Punters Bar is epic, especially the regular characters who hold pride of place on the middle table, Bar staff are friendly and helpful.

Sarah was working on the bar downstairs 2pm 4/1/23. She went out of her way to deliver not only impeccable customer service but also to accommodate my diet requirements with thorough attention and a friendly disposition. She is an asset to the hospitality industry.
