The Imperial Hotel Murwillumbah reviews

Great to have a vegan option on the pub menu. We stayed at the hotel, very clean nice rooms. However no door to separate the toilet/shower from the bedroom was a bit of a letdown.

Let start with POSITIVE: Renovations are very tasteful, they maintained the old time charm with newer look and feel. The room was very clean. The downstairs bar/restaurant were wonderful! Delicious food at a good price. All the staff were helpful and friendly. NEGATIVE: Loud !!!! We stayed in a room next to the stairs entrance. The door slamming was crazy. Plus ALL NIGHT the AC, right out our window, was turning on/off and made a noise that made it difficult to get sleep. I couldn't sleep most of the night. In the morning the team was super helpful and moved us to an inside room, which was much better, love this room until someone took a shower in the next room. OMG it was so loud! I guess this should be expected for a hotel from the 1930's, but I didnt expect it. The walls are very thin.

Cooper's on tap, a faultless beer, ice cold had two. So rare to find so many beers on tap here Steak is wonderful here also if I recall rightly. A favourite place

3 Star Review by Paul N

A mixed review for this place. The pub is excellent! Beautiful renovation, well priced tasty food and a great selection of beers. 5/5 The accomodation however; whilst beautifully renovated and presented, lacks any type of sound proofing or ease of use.The rooms have a stove yet no cookware, crockery or cutlery. The bathrooms are HUGE yet the basin is tiny with no room for a toothbrush. Im not sure how women would do their makeup? It is also so loud in the rooms you can hear everything from trucks, cars and bikes driving past, garbage trucks emptying bins, toilets flushing and showers running in the next room, the announcer on the microphone on trivia night, doors slamming, guests brushing their teeth. The list goes on. It was impossible to get a good nights sleep. 2/5

This place is great. Beautifully decorated with really good staff cocktails and food. They even bought around little snacks for each group. Very relaxed welcoming atmosphere

Amazing hotel, competitive prices, great staff, clean and loved the art work of dog everywhere! Some reviews said that the hotel was loud, however, we did not experience this (plus, earplugs were provided). Very cool pub and vibe throughout the hotel! We will be coming back!
