Postmans Tavern reviews

5 Star Review by Johnson Huynh

It did take a while to get our food but when it came, probably one of the best pub meals Ive had. I had the pork brisket burger, the brisket was so tender compliments with a great mayo sauce. Chips were nicely salted and crispy as well!

If it's Ambiance you are looking for, you won't find it here. Very plain. No bells n whistles. The meal was good. The beef burger was real meat, not that chemically tasting mass produced patties. The Bourbon brisket loaded fries was excellent, however a little dry. I added mustard and pickles to finish it off better, but dry. Service was very friendly. Had a 2019 Chardonnay that was nice and oaky, could be a little more oaky for me though. Not a place for a great experience out, but good for an 'eat n go' kinda meal.

A good place to enjoy bistro style food in Nowra area. Food serving portion is generous and very tasty too. The staff is helpful.

Waited for one hour for our meals, 3 tables who arrived after us received first. We ordered 2 easy steaks (medium rare and rare) with chips and veggies. We got carcinogenic beef biscuit, fridge cold to the surface steak and cold chips, with salad The main staff member (nino) was so spectacular, and so helpful, a real treasure...but the experience we had was hands down inedible. We were so hungry and we asked for more chips, since ours were dead cold. the offer of a free bottle of wine for our $60 meal which we couldn't eat was accepted as a good way to make up for it, but then was withdrawn, so we then went home actually having paid for the worst pub meal I've ever had in my life. We left both of them on the table and went to another fast food place instead. It's a shame, we drove especially out of our way to try this place and I could not recommend you to stay away more!

Country styled tavern with a good value for money menu. The venue is slightly small compared to your regular pub/RSL but it is cosy. Staff are friendly & welcoming with speedy service. I ordered the Scotch fillet steak med-rare & it was cooked how it was ordered- only wish they had garlic sauce! Aside from that, I do recommend a visit.

Oily flavourless vegan options that were obviously from frozen, the Diane sauce tasted a little off and we were refused any table water because they didn't have any clean jugs. No soap in the bathrooms

Happy Hour

1 Star Review by Fulvia Mendola

Last night my family and I ordered take away through Menu Log. We elected to pick up the food ourselves. When it was picked up, nothing was said about any change to the order. Once home we found that the fish and chips we had ordered were not there and there was some salt and pepper calamari and chips. We returned to the tavern (while our other food got cold at home), the young lady who served us asked if we had been advised that they had run out of fish and therefore the substitute. We said no one had said anything, either by phone call or when we picked up the food. She then said she needed to get the manager. When he came out he said it was just a menu log problem and not his. Not only was this not satisfactory, he treated us (myself and my daughter) rudely and like we were garbage. He would not even discuss the problem. We are Nowra locals I am disgusted at the treatment we received. We were they stuck with a meal that had to be thrown out.

Average pub food, average venue. Service could have been a lot better.
