The Pavilions Hotel reviews
5 Star Review by Bon Cleaver
Really lovely hotel, reminded me of the likes of Soho house. Gorgeous setting and the grounds are very well kept. Rooms and beds are very comfortable, nice products available and the breakfast is delicious with options for everyone, even a juicer to make your own fresh juice. There were some things missing or that could be improved on, the bar staff werent very helpful, we ordered food at the bar and brought it over and quickly left without asking if we needed anything, so I had to go up and ask for napkins cutlery condiments etc, they also werent topping up the fire so I did this as well, they seemed to be just hanging around behind the bar talking to each other. There was no mini bar in the hotel room and no movie options. The hot tub was also out of order. Overall lovely place to stay in the Hunter but there are some improvements that could be made.

Its so Hampton. (using the name as an adjective here) The interior and outdoors is so English, Vintage, Classic, Serene, Fresh, Clean Air and amazing staff plus food and drinks. Total meditation . Took the Valley View Room. Well maintained, clean, fully equipped and room service is super fast. Has 2 great restaurants within property. One is Lavish and needs prior booking and the other is casual and just a walk-in. Has a bar that closes late as per reception. Live band too had an amazing singer last night. Both restaurants are welcoming and has great food. Buffet breakfast lasts till 10:30 am and has plenty options for this era where everyone is on some different dietary plan. Plenty staff around to help you. They quite a few outdoor activities for all ages too. Safe and supervised Although there are plenty estates with good hotel options in the Hunter Valley, my heart was stolen by this one. Planning next stay already .

We booked two rooms for two nights and were placed in the Manor House with an amazing view. When making a booking, I mentioned that it was my husband's birthday and he received a lovely gift of a local honey and a very nice bottle of wine with a card. The rooms looked very nice and clean however one of the rooms was a little smelly, perhaps due to some plumbing issues but we didn't make a great fuss as we only stayed for two nights. The whole place looked very nice and clean and the staff was accommodating and friendly. On a different note, some of the staff members are not well informed and cannot provide correct information. I had to make numerous phone calls before I received an answer and on one occasion I was placed on hold indefinitely.. I would rather not to name names but when I called back and mentioned it to the same lady, she simply said OK and didn't bother to apologise. The bar staff was lovely and helpful but sadly the food was not good at all.. The breakfast buffet was very nice though. Overall we had a lovely time and hoping to come back again.

The building and grounds at Kirkton Park are absolutely stunning. You simply can't fault them. Unfortunately, the staff were generally lovely but far too young and inexperienced for a place which charges you top dollar on the rooms. I understand that they need to gain experience on the job, but there needed to be more of a balance of new and more experienced staff. Beautiful hotel, but expensive and under-skilled. Better options around.

Stayed overnight on the Winter Indulgence Package, the hotel is absolutely gorgeous and the views breathtaking. Our room was clean and beautifully appointed. Greatly appreciated the customer service from Faith, she went above and beyond her duties to make our stay special. All the other staff were also lovely and welcoming (save for the one staff member on checkout unfortunately). Another hiccup was that the indoor heated pool which we were looking forward to, was icy cold. However, considering our overall stay, would definitely return.

Beautiful gardens and hotel with a peaceful atmosphere. The High Tea spread was delicious, especially liked the arancini balls and scones. The little desserts were delicate and also very tasty.

Stayed here several times and enjoyed the stay but this time was disappointing the room had several broken items in it. I left an item in the room when checking out and not realising this until home called them to ask about it and they said they'll check with house keeping and call me back, that was 4 weeks ago. I thought I may have been a loyal customer but I guess not. Never staying here again.

We stayed for 2 nights and 3 days. The hotel is beautiful and very peaceful. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast add on option with the stay is worth the extra $. Unfortunately the pool was extremely cold and the spa did not work. We were told it's getting fixed but it did not happen over the duration of our stay. Very disappointed about this. The saun takes about an hour to heat up to 35 degrees, also a big let down. The sauna was very dirty, used towels, rubbish, cobwebs and dust covered the floor and under the seats. It wasn't cleaned between Sunday and Tuesday. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Cocktails were delicious a little pricy at $21 a drink. We love a game of pool, the bar had a pool table but it's the most uneven, unleveled table. Must be mainated and reclothed. Couldn't play a proper frame. Overall a peaceful experience.

Epoch - Stick to Kids Meals Tuesday 10th Jan 2023. I decided earlier that day after visiting the establishment to order the braised beef cheek because after all how hard is it to get that wrong? I had to take it back to the bar because to accept what was served to me would have just been wrong. I will for the establishments sake list all the things that were wrong with the dish starting with the fact that it was cold as if it had been sitting waiting for the wait staff to transport it from the kitchen to the table for 30 mins. I don't know how long it sat there for because by the time it reached my table but it wasn't even warm. Then it was dry, dry like it was freezer dry. I won't go on but my entire family agreed that it was a horrible dish, It didn't even have any taste, I honestly don't know how any chef could have pushed out a dish that was so horrible. A question for the management maybe? If you were a starving dog this dish might have seemed like paradise but as a visitor to this excellent establishment so full of promise it was nothing more but an acute disappointment. My wife's choice of chicken was just OK. The Kids liked their meals at least. The staff were professional and offered a replacement meal but after having received the aforementioned I would not trust this Kitchen. It was beyond shocking, the dining room was pretty much empty so there was no excuse really. At least they took the cost of the meal off the bill. The kids were so disappointed that we left without trying the desserts but I could not in any conscience risk subjecting them to another order after sending my dish back.
