Novotel Sydney on Darling Harbour reviews

5 Star Review by landofwonders

What a service! I took my son to stay at the hotel for his birthday. We've got a room overlooking Cockle Bay Wharf. Stunning view, esp the night view. To me, this is the most beautiful part of Sydney. We love the hotel, this is our second stay this year. Love it. I also love the fact that there's a bath tub in the room which you don't find it available in most hotels. And this time we found a new treasure - Deep Nature amenities which is new to the hotel. They are absolutely lovely. The scent, the freshness, and how my hair feels after the wash. It adds extra points on top of everything else.

Never staying here again. Firstly, this is not a 4 star hotel. On arrival had to stand in a queue for over 20 min, since there was only one person at reception. That was around 12 oclock at noon- not at night. The check in process was fine and the receptionist was helpful and accommodating. But then when I saw my executive room I was severely disappointed. Firstly, the bed is definitely not a queen size bed, there was no robe and slippers (its included in the room description), and the bathroom is super old with a shower in an ancient bath tub with hardly any water pressure. Called about the bath robe and slippers and was told that its on request. True, the housekeeping was quite quick and brought the bath robe and slippers and also extra hangers. On Friday night we came back from an outing only to find that our key was not working and had to go back to reception and get new ones. My feet were already killing me and the extra trip to reception didnt bode well. The pillows are super uncomfortable and there is no pillow menu like in other 4 star hotels. For ~$400 a night its absolutely not worth it.

One of the most amazing hotels we have ever stayed at. Room is fabulous, very large with a view of darling harbour to die for. Hotel is stunning with beautiful common areas, restaurant, bar, terraces, outdoor swimming pool, gym and tennis court. Staff are beautiful, so helpful, friendly, pleasant. Having a fabulous time. 5 star all the way. Highly, highly recommend!!

First guy at main reception didn't seem real friendly. Room and beds a bit smal but room and bathroom lovely and clean. Our view sucked compared to what we could of had. Bar and restaurant staff fabulous. Very friendly and great service. Bar and restaurant great place to hang out. Food was great. One thing I did notice on another review was the hotel charged more than the booking.com online price was. The same happened to us.

Staff were amazing. Room was clean, beds comfy. 2 down lights for the entire room is rough especially when only 1 working. Needed to use all lamps to be able to see anything, reminded me of camping outdoors Bathroom was spacious but pipe under sink looks like its been leaking for a long time. Would stay here again tho. Overall a pleasant experience. Thank you

The most upsetting thing was the parking cost $60 a night we were there 3 days. Down the road $20 parking overnight.

This is a good place to stay with family. Things I loved here: 1. Awesome breakfast 2. Comfy reception area 3. Decent rooms 4. Room service - efficient and great food Things which could be better: 1. Facilities - pool is average 2. Access to darling harbour as front access is not easy since the harbour mall has closed down 3. Check in time 3.

The view from the hotel was spectacular and the room overall was clean, just the carpet needed more cleaning and vacuuming. The buffet breakfast was good with plenty of options to choose from.
