The Beaches reviews
4 Star Review by ross cowan
Had a great time there on Sunday night with a live Deep Purple cover band. The band was awesome and really got you up and moving. They played all the Deep Purple songs perfectly I would certainly go to see them again Their version of 1970s song Child in Time was played to near perfection for this complicated record from album Deep Purple in Rock. Drinks were average price and the bar staff friendly and helpful. Had a meal of chips and calamari it was reasonably priced and plenty to eat. The crowd were all friendly I saw no aggressive acts and getting into the music dancing in front of the stage. Would definitely go there again the next time there is a good band playing

For the price... Great service. I was attended to courteously, with manners, and with a smile, even although I could see they were working really hard as the place was full, and the Bar/accommodation reception (all one and the same) was covered by patrons 3 people's deep for the entire length of the bar. I didn't stay for dinner, as they had a sign saying that any order would take about 1 hour to be served due to how busy they were. I had a show starting across the road in 1 hour. I could not risk it, so I chose to get something from one of the others establishments outside, but the food I saw waiting for collection looked good, and good servings. Accommodation was with shared bathroom. One male one female bathroom for the entire floor. Room facing Princess Highway, obviously poorly sound proofed as every truck felt it was going through my room. Pub with live band on until 10 or 11. That's fine, I was expecting that this might happen. Not a hassle, but the cleaning up of bottles clinking and dragging furniture went on till very late. Then all night, everytime someone came in or left, the exit door would slam shut. Making a really loud metal door slamming. The 2 seats in the room were very stained, I will just say i would not seat on them. However the sheets and pillow covers looked very white and clean. All in all, a great joint if you are getting smashed enough to sleep through the night's noises.

Stayed overnight after a concert at Anita's Theatre - room and bathroom were clean but could be improved with little extras such as a light fitting over the bare globe in the room, and some coat hangers on the clothes rack. Removing the sheets that had been stripped off the beds from the trolley in the hallway would also make the place look tidier.

Visited for lunch, Service was subpar, upon ordering food was notifed of an hour wait for food. This would not of been in issue however, The food tasted as bad as it looked, salad was overdressed, chips were cold & the schnitzel was the worst schnitzel we've ever had. Dry, bland, crumb falls apart as soon as its cut, extremely underhwelming. Calamari tasted like it wasn't freshly battered. The only positive out of our visit and the reason for 2 stars is because of a sneaky feature on the pokies which paid for the abysmal schnity.

Food was delicious. Chimichanga & pork belly were perfect & will definitely have more. Great beer garden. We will be back to see a band soon - great to see a venue with a stage!
