The Albion Hotel (Wickham) reviews
4 Star Review by George Lewandowski
Greeted by friendly staff who treated us really special as we were their only guests for the 3 nights. Room was pristine and clean. The bathroom was clean but it was a little sqeezey. The Bistro served great food. Not a big menu but the Specials board had great meals. One complaint was the TV is small and mounted too high up the wall. We got cricked necks and the picture was tinged red due to the acute angle so watching was not clear. But it was a handy location to light rail, great cafes. Access to the city and ferry was easy. We only drove the car on the last day as we went to Port Stephens. A real Hoot on Origin night!
5 Star Review by Paul-Thomas Clarke
I was looking for a cost effective place to stay for 1 night. After arriving the gentlemen at the bar was very helpful, my room was very clean and my bed was very comfortable. I stayed for lunch and dinner, both were amazing. You get noise as you would expect from any bar, that comes with the Territory.

It's 4am and music is still blasting in my room from the bar. Writing this review then packing my bag and leaving. What a joke of bar with accommodation. No respect for their guests. 2 nights of no sleep. No towls for the 1st night either. DO NOT STAY HERE!

Went to the Albion tonight for dinner because they sponsor the sports competition at Urban Rec and our team won a $100 voucher for being Most Fun team. When we tried to order dinner the Duty Manager Jerry or Gerry (cant confirm spelling but he was small, bald and irrationally furious) yelled at us saying people had been photocopying the voucher and that we werent allowed to use it. He was weirdly aggressive and it was all in all a pretty horrible experience. It would also be unusual for a group of 8 people to try and scam one of Newcastles least desirable venues just to save $12.50 each but he was adamant. Gerry/Jerry didnt let us use the voucher so on principle I didnt order any food so I cant review the cuisine although I did see the mega schnitzel and it was pretty normal sized. Have no intentions of going back to the Albion again. Jerry/Gerry is definitely not the Most Fun and should get his blood pressure checked, the guy was red as.

The Albion Hotel is just a few hundred metres north of the train station, last stop.If you want a good Parmy Schitzel or fish and chips you won't be dissaponted. I stopped here because there's not much around this end of town to get a decent lunch. Nice pub.
