Cessnock Ex-Services Club Limited reviews

5 Star Review by Crystal Russom

Visiting the valley, we wanted somewhere close by that wasn't fine dining with a high price, and this was great. Short drive from our accommodation and easy enough to find. Plenty of parking right outside, lots of classic menu options and roast of the day was delicious! Fairly priced and didn't wait very long for our meals. Staff were friendly and prompt, meal sizes were decent, would come here again for sure.

Ordered a medium steak, salad and chips for $36 dollars, first was given the wrong steak which was well done, wrong sauce and no salad. Then got the right steak which was far past medium, chewy and just had 0 flavour. Salad didn't have any dressing either. For 36$ you would hope you can at least get a steak cooked to your request. Schnitzel was ordered too for 26$ and the vegetables tasted like out of a bag, the schnitzel was dry and only tasted somewhat alright doused in mushroom sauce. Would not recommend the league's club in Cessnock.

4 Star Review by Jada Luise

The food was delicious but a particular staff member seemed annoyed or maybe just having a bad day but it's still a great place to have a meal and drink with friends and family. Even kid friendly with a playground. Will definitely come back.

Best food at great low prices in Cessnock. Everything on the menu is amazing, you won't be disappointed. Plenty of parking and wheelchair access is more than ample.

We had a very late lunch and ordered a pizza, my wife has allergies and we did not realise that it contained chilli (our mistake.) Thank you to the lovely staff who went out of their way to supply something for my wife to eat. Much appreciated.

The club had a wonderful atmosphere and very beautifully presented interior. The place was extremely clean. The food however at the Bistro was as awful! Came in for a homely club meal and ordered steak and lamb shanks, the meat all round was rubbery and dry and tasted like soap and tasteless. The amount charged was ridiculous considering the amount that was ate from either meal! Wont be coming there for a feed again.

Terrible service. The moment the bistro closed I'm brushed off. No, don't ask what I might want, disregard anyone who just wants some hot chips or something. Just no we're closed. Selfish, if you got workers that care more for partying than earning money call me. Horrible.
