Unexpected place! The beer garden is really cool, has a really good vibe and is heaps of fun. They have a basketball court on it as well where you can shoot some hoops. They have set up a grill and a kitchen where food can be served. Food is nothing outstanding obviously, but it goes well with the beer. Quite surprised with this place!

Great outdoor venue that is pet friendly. The dog was given a water bowl as soon as we sat down. It has a basketball court where you can throw up some hoops and a large tv screen. Great for chilling at the weekends. The cheese burger and nachos were good quality. I am so glad this venue stayed as a pub and didnt get turned into a block of apartments. Great job at keeping this place open.

The Alex is a vintage Hotel with its original decor. It's a family friendly pub. The food is nice as with all Hemmes Family pubs. The focus of attention is the beer garden .Perfect for Summer but a bit cold for Winter ( no heating ). Walk upstairs to go back in time.

Best part of this pub is the outdoor section with plenty of seating and a basketball hoop which you can ask the bar for a ball. Got the cheeseburger which wasn't too bad, the fries had a bit too much vinegar on them for my liking but overall still enjoyable. Woulf be great if they had a bigger pub-style menu.

In one word one Big Happy Place. Everything works well together. Old walls and new vibes of this Hotel are perfect combination. It just feel so festive. Go visit this great venue .
