The Briars Inn reviews
5 Star Review by Liam
The restaurant is terrific. The decor is on point with very modern tables, chairs, bars, fireplaces, bathrooms and a warm, cozy, relaxing environment in general. Outside they have a large fire pit and TV to enjoy time with large family and friends. Once it clocked over past 5pm, the lights inside dimmed and the outdoor fairy lights were turned on, further emphasising the great atmosphere. Although the pricing is on the higher end, the portion sizes are fair with quality ingredients used. The pizzas are made with quality Italian meats and fresh cheeses. The calamari was cooked perfectly with a great portion for an entree and not stringy or rubbery. Despite a moderate portion for the sticky-date pudding, it was filling and hence was shared between 2 people comfortably. Definitely recommend.

Amazing place but service needs to be a little more service friendly. Though its self serve cups and water, for large groups it was hard to get plates or that little four star restaurateur attention. There was a wedding the night before and the cake was left on the table overnight where our next day celebrations were in the outdoor tent. Considering it was an event booking we would have hoped for a little more attention to the room prior for other tenants to come in. Also, we didnt have servers checking in on us during the event but only to leave food at the table. Most of the food was left on one side of the table for 25people and we had to pass food around ourselves. Again just that little attention.

My stay at Briar's was amazing. Our room was very clean and the view was spectacular. Briar's Inn was fabulous and the service was great, we were lucky enough to get a table by the fire and the food was delicious. Highly recommend for a weekend away with or without kids! We had our 5 month old with us and the staff made a big effort to make sleeping arrangements comfortable for him.

We have dined at Briars quite a few times in the past and found the food to be very good therefore my problem is not with the food, rather with the appalling way we were treated by a member of the front of house staff. I came in with a cake and some childrens cupcakes to have after our meal and was promptly told that cakeage would be charged to the extent of $10 per person including $10 for each child (of which there were 5 under 5 years plus a baby). Whilst I accept that it is reasonable for a charge be added to our bill for this service, I would have thought an amount of around $25 would have been more than sufficient. To top this off as a parting shot at us we were also told that we only had the booking until 2pm as it was double booked so we had better be gone by them. What ever happened to customer service and a bit of old fashioned good will - we certainly spent plenty of money at the Briars on entrees, mains and copious amounts of alcohol? Disappointed would be the least I could say - you can do a lot better!!

Excellent location, thoughtful menu and more than adequate wine list, very good food, excellent service. Couldnt fault it on a busy night with large groups of revellers, pre-wedding parties and the odd family group. Staff coped magnificently. Highly recommended.

The room is quite spacious for a couple and a baby. It's a garden view which is also accessible to the garden. The only downside of the room is the old mattress. The mattress is firm and sloped. I feel like sinking into it and I had a back pain after the first night. Parking is available right at the front of the hotel room.

Nicely refurbished. If youre looking for a country pub Id say there is better. Its quite expensive for what it is. Some things seem like fine dining and some things are very pub which is okay but If you want brilliant restaurant food just go to one of the brilliant restaurants. It is a stunning pub though in a great location.

Nice and amazing lodge stay. The room overlook a beautiful view of the pond and ducks roaming freely around. The room is spacious for the both of us.
4 Star Review by Tony Barker
The rooms are on the smaller side, but adequate. Not super clean. The outlook onto the water and grass is very nice. Overall, the main issue is the price, it isn't very good value, at least for what we paid. It feels like gouging after the pandemic. We are trying to get out and support businesses in all the regional centres but this makes me reconsider. For the price I could get a 2 bedroom apartment in the centre of most major cities.
