I dont normally leave reviews, but we had such a great experience here it feels rude not to leave a compliment for the world to see. We spontaneously booked the petite room at a really great price WITH a complimentary G&T on arrival. It was very tiny but well designed and a great functional space. We thought that being on a main road, with a pub on the ground floor, it would be noisy, but it was actually nice and quiet in the room. Everything is so beautifully decorated, super clean and the staff were super friendly and helpful. The bistro is also beautiful and we loved the little library nook. Wonderful service and experience. Will definitely be back!

I stayed here for 1 night as my son had to stay overnight at the East Sydney Hospital at the last minute. I was lucky enough to get a room in the motel at 8pm on a Saturday night. The manager was amazing I didn't get there until 9.30pm and was exhausted. He was lovely enough to bring me a glass of wine while I settled into my lovely comfortable room. It was spotless and so comfortable with everything I needed. Definitely go back. It's a shame I didn't get time to try the meals they looked yummy. Maybe next time.

Stayed for one evening, mid week - our room was fabulous and the service and staff, friendly and attentive. The recent renovation is divine - Stylish and sophisticated. And the French bistro no words! One of the best dining experiences I have had in a long time. Service, ambiance and the food - truly outstanding. And a real vibe on a casual rainy Tuesday. We will be back.

Honestly some of the best Bistro food Ive had in Sydney. Wonderful restaurant / environment and incredible service too. Their recent renovation was really well done. The food was first class. Perfect flavours. In our group every plate was cleaned and everyone loved it! Definitely make it to desert.

My friends and I had a wonderful dinner at the new French bistro at The Strand. Firstly, the renovation is amazing, really stylish, beautiful and atmospheric. As its a bistro, theres a real vibe to the place. The food was delicious and a great selection of wine. Our waiter was very friendly and professional and could answer questions and make suggestions. And with the roaring fire, a perfect way to spend a Friday evening with friends.

This beautiful French bistro in the Strand Hotel is highly recommended. It has very elegant atmosphere and classic interior, while its open-space, street-side, European-style and very relaxing. Food was amazing!

Food was very nice. Service was appalling by the inattentive English waitress. She sat us at our table, proceeded to read the specials off the wall to us then took our drinks order (two of us). The Barman made our cocktails and they sat on the bar for over 10 minutes while our server ignored his gestures and proceeded to have lengthy conversations with numerous other diners (maybe 12 patrons total, so not busy). A waitress working a different section then brought our drinks over. The original person still yet to return to take our dinner order or questions, now 30 minutes after we sat down the other server took our order because the English one was too busy talking to other diners still, one table accross from us, yet continued walking past us paying no attention to us or that we hadnt ordered food from her. She then proceeded to chit-chat with some people she seemed to know who she sat at another table. I mentioned this all to the server who ended up doing the work of her colleague and how disappointed we were with the experience. The manager was apparently downstairs but at this point we were glad to just leave. Service makes or breaks an establishment equally as the food or rooms. I wouldnt recommend going here when there are so many better places nearby.

We loved our stay at The Strand. Rooms are beautifully decorated and well appointed. Staff are fantastic and very helpful. We also enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Bistro - highly recommend!
