Empire Bay Tavern reviews

Good quality modern pub food. We went for lunch on Sunday afternoon and were served pretty quickly. Food was nicely presented and generous servings. Kids really enjoyed their meals too. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating and a kids playground.

Big Tavern, family friendly...the staff and food were faultless...a pleasure to eat here, kids enjoyed the experience. The food was quite exceptional. Pub food done extremely well. Plates were left clean.

Went here on a Thursday night - it had a good buzz due to the trivia being on in the front bar. We sat out back near the kids playground but still felt part of the buzz. Big range of tap beers and cans. Including a cider in tap for us gluten free people. Saying that I was super jealous of those at my table who had the hand crumbed schnitzel - looked amazing. steak was good not great but the chips were top notch. will go again and take the family. I reckon Id slay the trivia..

Big, friendly pub. Lots of outdoor area and a playground so good for dogs and kids. The beer selection was bad, nothing but lagers. I got the parmi. It was a generous serving and solid, but a bit on the pricey side.

What shame. The place used to serve up the best steak. The meals we received were over cooked. Rubbish. Note to "chef?". Old chips belong in the garbage bin, not on customers plates.

Very fine fish and chips!

The experience was pretty poor. Two of our party had eaten there previously and recommended it. This was before the place embarked upon renovations making it now seem like a cheap RSL club without poker machines. Upon ordering we were told it was a 45 minute wait for food. When it got to an hour we questioned the delay and were then told it was an hour and 15 minutes. Not sure it this was a deliberate strategy to encourage patrons to order more drinks or if the kitchen really was overwhelmed. It wasnt worth the wait. The fish and chips were dreadful, over cooked and not sure what kind of fish it was. The steak was burnt on one side and raw on the other. One of my co-diners commented it was poor pub food served at high quality restaurant prices. Very disappointing.
