Staff, service and food is top notch! Book your table early because the restaurant fills up very quickly. I got the scotch fillet steak medium rare and it was cooked to perfection. I'm from Sydney and have paid a lot more for much less quality. The staff are very welcoming and friendly which was nice as an obvious non-local. If you're travelling through, don't look no further than grabbing a bite from South Hay Hotel

We travel extensively around Australia and eat often at little pubs in rural areas. This one is a gem. The aesthetics of the building hide the quality of the food, drinks and friendship of the locals. Their food quality and taste is A1 and price point is spot on, as is their range of beers and wine. The hosts are attentive and the locals are nice folk. To we travelers - as with the rest of lovely Hay, please spend your urban $$$ here

We were thoroughly entertained by Ben and Maree who were funny and engaging . It was great to hear hear about their journey to becoming the owners of this great little pub together. We immediately loved the atmosphere and although we arrived on in a Sunday when the kitchen was closed we found dinner elsewhere but returned for after dinner drinks. Truth be told I would still be there if my husband didnt telll me it was time to go

Bloody good pub feed, service is always warm and welcoming, Im local so eat here at least once a week. Country Pub feed at oh try pub prices. Ben and Marie are great.
