The Sir George reviews

5 Star Review by Nacole Strobel

This place was amazing. We stopped through on our way to Victoria from NSW. Very very busy place. All the staff where lovely and helpful. We sat outside undercover with gas heaters, all the meals arrived together. Absolutely beautiful, very filling. Lots of options & Gluten free as well. Different price options too. Would love to go back again and have more time to take in the beautiful area. A big thanks to all of the staff. This is definitely on the list to return.

We were driving from Melbourne to Sydney and wanted good food. Saw this on the map and had an unexpectedly wonderful meal and experience at this location. Forgot to take photos but the ones in the other reviews are perfect. Rolling hills, a lovely beer garden, quaint shopping. Perfection.

Stopped got a EV charge. I went over for a meal..pleasantly surprised. Had the chicken snitzel, delicious & very reasonable price. Menu had a varied selection to choose from. Eating inside or outside in courtyard. Received meal within 20 min of order. Worth calling in again when in the area.

Met here with my kids who travelled from Canberra. It was a cold day but we were really cosy in the enclosure outside with the heater. Lunch was magnificent, actually liked the new owners menu better than the last. Service was great and had a little look in the gift shop. Highly recommend

Not as good as it used to be. They no longer have Asahi Black on tap (my main reason for visiting). Chicken schnitzels today were ordinary - just plain and bland with ordinary chips and coleslaw with no flavour. It was very busy and I got the distinct impression they wanted us gone as soon as we finished our main meals so we complied and left. Wont be back I fear and its a shame as we are almost locals and used to love going there.

Don't know what all the praise/fuss is about...the Guinness was good...$15.50 for a pint, so it should be good...food from limited menu very ordinary...I asked for no gravy, aioli instead, but along came synthetic smelling gravy...waiter changed it happily, but was supermarket mayo...too many soggy chips filling up the plate and most unexciting salad, for the price, I'd hoped for better...oh well...believe motel 2kms down the road is much better value...

Ordered Salt and Pepper Squid - small option and paid $22 dollars for a plate of very small squid pieces (more crumbs then squid). Significant change in meal size, quality and price since the new owners. I think Sir George need to undergo a review all round.
