Paragon Hotel reviews

5 Star Review by Gary Warren

This truly is a great country pub that makes you feel welcome on every visit. The staff are very friendly & super service orientated, especially Alex, who treated us more like family than patrons, on the two occasions we visited the Paragon while in Mudgee for a short stay (we want to adopt Alex!). The atmosphere & decor in this place is amazing, as is the food from a varied menu which is very reasonably priced. A great selection of beers on tap including my favourite Resches & a good selection of wines either by the glass or bottle. I don't often rave about a pub but the Paragon is an exceptional country pub that my wife & I totally recommend you visit when in Mudgee...& thanks again Alex for making our visit a very special experience.

Visiting Mudgee overnight we decided to stop in for dinner. It was so lovely and welcoming. Every single staff member greeted us....EVERY SINGLE ONE!!!! Staff were friendly and constantly buzzing around. It was great to see. Meals were great and priced well. Nachos, parmi and veges(I would of liked some fresh veges like brocolli would of been yum) and my parents had a share board, they loved this. The decor and atmosphere was modern and alive. Highly recommend.

Amazing staff, very hospitable and friendly. Good drink prices and very good food. Enjoyed the ambiance, decor and cleanliness of the bar area. Stayed in the hotel and it was very clean, comfortable and quiet. Also nice modern decorative touches that made it feel nice. Would highly appreciated recommend drinking here, and staying overnight. Very good prices!

Terrible. We have stayed at accommodation for two nights. Dinner last night with Burnt lamb cutlets. Waited an hour for our dinner next night with 4 grandchildren which were hard to control after an hour after garlic bread. 6 pieces of beef in salad bacon raw In chicken burger. She did eat chicken. But bacon raw. Could cause food poisoning. Did complain and said would give one desert. Is impossible to share between 4 kids at the table. Service poor. My family have just moved to Mudgee looking forward to many trips to see my family. But not at the Paragon.

Great priced meals. We had to wait a long time to get them but they were worth the wait. Nice and cosy environment and very busy which tells you it's popular!

Well first review of the year, this time at the paragon hotel. Food was good foe the price. My wife had the starter of Tex mex nachos. What was supposed to be a starter came like a main. Worth it for the 17 dollars. She said it was filling tasted nice she was happy.. Happy wife happy life. I had the pub classic chicken parmigiana.. with chips and colslaw for 23 dollars Also ordered a creamy garlic sauce with it an extra 3 dollars. The parmigiana was great.. added the sauce to it made it a whole lot better.. not bug just a good meal size..Was cooked to perfection. The chips were spot on but not enough.. nice crispy.. The coleslaw I did not enjoy.. was sour and lifeless .. one mouthful was enough The beer great northern was nice and cold. Wife had lemon lime and bitters mixed just right. Two Irish barmaids very friendly. All in all I nice experience and we will be back. Thank you.

I ordered a rump steak for lunch and fed most of it to my dog (who enjoyed it). It was a tough, stringy price of meat which was poorly cooked; well done on one side, barely cooked on the other and raw in the middle. Expensive dog food!
