We love the grand! The rooms are huge and well... Grand! The dinner menu at the pub downstairs was a 12/10, I think thats what impressed us the most, utterly well executed. And the underground bar was a perfect way to finish the night off. We didn't end up leaving the whole venue while we were there, we had everything we needed under the one roof. Highly recommend!

This place absolutely spot on. Ive been here twice now. The place is a 5 min walk to Newcastle Beach. So its location is great. The rooms are spacious, with a good comfy bed, good shower, plenty of hot water and pressure. For pub rooms they are excellent. We had dinner down stairs, my steak was beautifully cooked, the bistro was fully booked but the bloke running the show squeezed myself and my young bloke in, nothing was a problem at any point. The bar was pumping with a slightly older crowd. The atmosphere was great and i enjoyed a cold crisp beer with my steak. For a weekend getaway in a great location, for a great price with second to none service. Go the Grand Hotel Newy.

Delightful and delicious lunch at The Grand. Started with a scotch egg which was perfectly cooked and not something you expect to find on a local pub menu. The house made pie and mash and the steak sandwich were pub grub gone above and beyond! Great selection of wines and excellent service topped off a fab experience. Will definitely be back!

Loved it!!! Vibe is great. Bistro/ pub on ground level. Food and drinks and staff exceptionally friendly. Room number one is old but large. Every day room service which a lot of establishment don't do!. Owner Lucas very affable and informative. The hotel is so nice you can hang there all day if you were lazy. Did lots of walking to the beach nearby!

A hidden gem. We went for dinner for something casual, the service was top notch and I had the best steak Id had in ages. Then, we were invited downstairs for a jazz night that felt like we were in the underground New York jazz scene that once was not that Id know. See you there next week.

Had lunch here today. Steak sandwich and chicken Caesar wrap. Both were amazing. Great value that's for sure. Beautiful old hotel. Beautiful inside. Wasn't going to come here so glad I did.

Huge thank you to the wonderful bar tender that went the extra mile to raid the AF spirits from the (closed) cocktail bar to make me the most fabulous aperitz sour AF cocktail last Sunday, so nice to be able to enjoy a grown-up drink with my friends without breaking my AF New Years resolution!

We very much enjoyed our two night stay at The Grand Hotel. King bed was so comfortable, the room as well as the whole hotel is kept beautifully clean. Service was so friendly and welcoming and the food from bistro really enjoyable. Location was amazing, only a block or two walk to everything you need...shops, restaurants, harbour, beach
