Called in on a Sunday for a pub lunch and have to say the food and service was brilliant. Manager super helpful about the different beers on tap, and generally the place had such a friendly vibe. Plus loved the old pressed metal ceilings, it just feels like a classic Australian pub only in the inner west. Definitely returning for a game of pool upstairs, thanks guys :)

There is so much to love about this place. Large, mostly sheltered, outdoor space with laid back vibe. A separate Batch brewery 'R&D' area with great beers on tap. Unfortunately the food we had was a big let down. Our group was one of the first to arrive and the place was mostly empty. We waited about 30 mins to get our pizzas, and unfortunately they were very bland. Would still be happy to come back for a few drinks, but probably won't try the food again.

Quality venue this in historical part of Sydney. Awesome staff, fantastic selection of cold beers and ales, superb food. What more do ya want? Also staff allowed me to read some of Johnny Depp's court transcripts and did not call the police. Quality. We will be back.

This place has great potential but it is so inconsistent when it comes to the quality of the food and service. The first 3+ times we went there for pizza the bases were burned to a crisp. Not that puffy, slightly charred Napoli style crust, I mean completely cremated. We never finished any of those burned pizzas. This was over a year ago, we raised it a couple of times and but got no response. Just recently we paid 25 dollars for a ham and pineapple pizza for the kids. There was no ham on the pizza, it was covered with some odd tasting processed meat which the waitress confirmed was mortadella. I politely complained about it, she could see clearly that 75% of the pizza had not been touched, she simply said sorry and walked off. We left it there and went home in disgust. I am absolutely not a tight ar5e, but when you're paying 25-30 odd bucks for a pizza you are entitled to get what you paid for. I paid an extra 4 dollars for jalapenos and received probably 1 slice of jalapeno per slice. When we first sat down at the table I noticed several bird droppings so I took out some baby wipes and cleaned the whole table. The wipes were filthy when I was done, apparently the table had not been wiped before we sat down. This place charges serious restaurant prices, but provides backpacker beer garden style service and quality. I don't like leaving negative reviews and I always try to support local businesses, but this place has rubbed me up the wrong way too many times. Please put some quality control measures in place, hire an experienced manager to keep an eye on things instead of leaving the waitstaff seemingly unsupervised. Keep the place clean and give people what they are paying for. Sorry to have left this review. I'll probably remove it soon, now that I have gotten all of this off my chest.

Have a drink, eat something. I definitely recommend. Local beer, a lot of space, very chill atmosphere, no tourists a priori. If you just want a bit of neighborhood atmosphere, it's perfect really too much (and the locally brewed beer is excellent!)
