Had lunch with my family. First I must say the food was very nice small serving compared to other pubs which was nice but still at the same price as other pubs. When we were there it was very drafty so we were all cold. There was no access at the back gate like before and my 93 old mother had to do all the stairs. Will not return eating with dogs in room with us made sure of that

Food was below average, bland, no seasoning. Creamy mash potato was watery and lumpyagain with no taste or seasoning. Vegetables had obviously been left under a heat lamp (or at the bottom of a saucepan after all the water had boiled off) all evening as they were dried out and shrivelled- it boggles the mind why a chef would put something like that on a plate and serve it to paying customers. Come out to the table and ask if wed rather salad if you ran out of vegetables instead of scraping out the dregs you found at the bottom of the pot. And although I love dogs, having a couple of them walking around people trying to eat as well as having a toilet training puppy soil the public areas isnt a great look. We tried them for lunch and a dinner service, but sadly nope

Such a warm cosy vibe here. The rooms are clean and beds are comfy, staff are super friendly and location is perfect for a weekend away with The foundations just accross the road. Its a little hidden gem. Cannot wait to return

Our stay was VERY good , The owner was very helpful , room was clean and tidy , food was delicious .would stay again . Our little dog was aloud to be anywhere as the Hotel is pet friendly. .
