Nice pub type atmoshphere. Fantastic range of rare beers. Good size meal portions Haloumi burger was good. Schnitzel was tough. 35 for a beer and meal is fair value.

Visited for lunch on Thursday 3rd March. I walked in off the street and was fascinated by this unique pub. The quirky interior decor and friendly happy staff make this an ideal place to have a meal and drink a few beers. I had a chilli sauce squid , which was delightful and my friend ate a brisket meat pie which was perfect. I will return. You must visit this pub !!!

Still a great little pub post sale. A few welcome updates. Has the Royale changed? Not sure, need to go back for another one!

I accidentally came across the Royal Albert Hotel while I was out in Surry Hills the other weekend and didn't expect my night to be so great after a bad day. A big shout out to the bartender, Jenny, who went the extra mile to make sure my friends and I had a great experience. Not only did she make a killer cocktail, but she was always smiling, super friendly, and an absolute gem. I would go back there JUST for her incredible service.

A great little pub off the beaten track. A great beer selection, good food (including vegan options), classic style front bar, courtyard, and tables on the footpath.

MISSY THE CAT RETURNS! Blimey - I don't get by The Royal Albert often, but when I do . . . well, I closed this place last time I was in. It is a proper pub, with proper beer, run by proper staff. The real thing. Pull up a chair, pull up a pint, settle in, and have a proper chat with your friends and family. What, did you think you'd get time to do all that some other time? And set aside any silly urge to go on to the next place merely for the sake of variety. Pro tip: The Hollywood is a good local alternative if for some reason you can't make the Albert. Edit (Jan '23): bumping this to see if it's being shadowbanned - for some strange reason it's still in my reviews, but has been removed from Google Maps. ============== Missy The Cat Star Ratings: 5 - a place of rare genius that merits repeated return visits 4 - a strong effort with no major shortcomings 3 - a solid, worthy effort with perhaps one important thing to fix 2 - several important things wrong, but at least one important thing right 1 - can't be given a zero, doesn't deserve a dollar (as of review date) Rainer Munir 5 reviews a month ago Worst pub in Sydney. Beers are overrated and expensive, no root beer!!!

We are locals who had wanted to support the Royal Albert over the years and through COVID but the occasional rude service and poor quality food had kept us from being regulars. After today's awful experience, we will never be returning. The kitchen served us meat that had clearly gone off in a chicken schnitzel. No amount of craft beer can waste out the bad taste a trick like that leaves you!
