Sir Stamford at Circular Quay reviews

4 Star Review by JL

Had a great stay here with my boyfriend. The hotel itself has a unique characteristic. The room is clean and the swimming pool is lovely. The view in the room of Opera House and Harbor Bridge is fantastic. The service is nice. However, giving 4 stars as the breakfast wasn't fresh enough - some fruits were moldy. Will love to visit here again.

4 Star Review by Michelle Millgate

Attended a private event in a function room so unable to comment on the hotel aspect. However, the staff were wonderful, very attentive and friendly, anticipating the needs of all the attendees. I also loved the decor, conjuring an old school (?gentleman's) club feeling. The range of wines, spirits and liqueurs on offer in the bar was also outstanding.

4 Star Review by Kathy Krause

The only reason for 1 star less was that our room was right above the air-conditioning vent that hummed all night. Other than that it was gorgeous, super clean, had a huge bathroom with a bathtub (5 stars in that alone), bed and pillows super comfy. The room was warm without it being stuffy. Little extras such as slippers and robes, good quality toiletries, a shoe shine service. Staff very friendly and accommodating. NB: we booked online so therefore did not have a choice in rooms.

3 Star Review by Felipe R

Despite the great location and the old-world feeling, the rooms could benefit for some upgrades in general, also to allow it to feel more fresh/clean, given the amount of furniture and carpet across. Having complementary water would always be a welcome addition for tourists like us. Good value for money, although I may consider other options in the future as being more comfortable, in general.

5 Star Review by Mel McMillan

A beautiful old style hotel with plenty of charm and character. Would highly recommend staying here especially if you are boarding a Ship at Circular Quay as the Hotel is in walking distance. The service and rooms were really nice and clean with a touch of class with the Marble Bathroom and quality antique furnishings throughout this Hotel. Guaranteed a really great experience, as the Hotel is also well located to The City of Sydney. Make sure you look at this place for your next stay in Sydney.

The worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Breakfast was limited, paper cups used for serving coffee, the wait staff were unprofessional one was wearing a hoodie to cover up a dirty shirt, the hotel smelt musty and is in real need of an injection of funds. The Reception staff could not be understood because of the masks that they insisted on wearing even though they were behind screens was the use of masks necessary? I asked why the mini bar was not stocked and the good old Covid excuse was given. Don't they realise that excuse is wearing very thin especially with the tariff charged it was a real rip off. I suppose they can tap in on unsuspecting tourists as the hotel was sold in August last year to a developer. I would have been better staying at the Backpackers Hostel at Central Station. Never again but they don't care if we never come back as it will probably be closed down this year sometime.
