Romano's Hotel reviews
5 Star Review by Peter Jaji
Great experience staff were inviting quick to serve and friendly. The demeanour was clearly welcoming stemming from the senior staff. Patrons were mostly happy and friendly too where most people smiled with a nod. Food was good fresh and tasty. Beer nice and cold reasonable prices.
2 Star Review by Craig Cochrane
Nice atmosphere and look as we entered the venue. Nice enough service at the bar. The menu looks quite appealing but that where it ended. The pork belly strips with coleslaw.well the pork was old and dry, good for a shoe repair at best. The coleslaw was an afterthought from the kitchen, just some shredded veg without any dressing. The chook on a hook. Cold cold mash potato and the crumbed chicken just OK compared to a good chicken schnitzel. Not somewhere well be back.

Lovely staff and lovely food and decent prices. My husband and I had the lamb shanks and lamb cutlets both were beautful and large portions. Can't wait to taste the rest of the menu!

I loathe to post a negative review but my oh my, what on earth did I just experience tonight guys? That was a complete s$@# show. An unmitigated disaster I have never seen the likes of. The food collection counter was a complete shambles. Full of patrons bringing back their incorrect meals. Nearly every order was completely wrong. Not sure how the system failed but the first two attempts at cooking our meals was a 0 out of 4 correct. Second attempt again 0 out of 4 correct. Third attempt 3 out of 4 correct. And on the fourth attempt, we finally got the correct 4th meal. The poor kids working at the food collection counter were left to fend for themselves and were clearly out of their depth through no fault of their own. Surely one of the more experienced staff members could have stepped in to take charge and work out the obvious disconnect between what was being ordered and what was being cooked. To add insult to injury, they then ran out of cutlery just as I was ready to tuck into my medium rare scotch filter steak. One of the bar staff quickly got me some but didnt replenish the stock of cutlery. Not even 2 minutes later (shock, horror), another customer then had to ask for more cutlery. The meal was perfectly fine, probably a 4 out of 5. I hope this was just a one off chain of events that snow balled into something big as I can see there have been many positive reviews in the past. The entertainment was great and the pub had a good atmosphere. Shout out to the lamb shanks lady below. I could see the bewilderment in her eyes as she made her feelings known about the cold lamb shank she was twice served! She arrived a little later than us and her order was put in while the s#%^ was already hitting the fan in the kitchen. Her meal really didnt stand a chance.

Tables had not been cleaned from previous occupants. Plates and glasses removed from the table as they were finished. Pub grub as always found in Australian pubs. Live music great and various request granted. Altogether an average night out.. home by 10pm.

We stayed at Romanos tonight on our trek back to Melbourne from QLD/NSW. Would have to say that staying/dining here has had to be the highlight of our trip. The rooms are so comfortable and spacious, beds are SUPER comfortable, MASSIVE bathroom and looks to be newly renovated. We thought being on top of a pub would be loud but it was very quiet and peaceful. Beautiful outdoor area and the staff were so so friendly and welcoming. Extremely good food and know how to make a bloody good drink. Would recommend this place to anyone coming through!

Thanks for hosting us and our pet in the outdoor dining. Meals were great and the cider cold... perfect for a 35 early evening. We'll definitely be back when next in Wagga Wagga.
