5 Star Review by emma harrison

We hosted a first birthday party in the Steak Room on Sunday. The experience we had was fantastic. About to write an email outlining how well the event team were to the club as we were so well taken care of. The food on the day is a little pricey, $780 to feed a party of 40 and not much left but it was fresh and delicious. If you are considering a club venue for a kids birthday and you want private space near a playground, this was excellent.

First time visitor and pleasantly surprised at the warm welcome and atmosphere. Attended the Steak House and had a great meal. Definitely considering making it one of our locals.

Chicken satay skewers no satay served with baked pumpkin n potato was a special of the day to be served with rice!!! Steak cooked to order but full of gristle!!! Diggers is a great little RSL. They've just recently revamped their kitchen and have some fantastic offerings, including some of the best pizza in the hunter! Atmosphere is great and the staff are always friendly. Plus, they have my favourite beer, Asahi, on tap! Great spot for big gatherings too!

Recently held a 90th birthday party for my mum. I can not faulty anything. The venue (Mazza Bar) took my breath away it was set up perfectly. Ashley - the events coordinator was wonderful to deal with. She was so helpful from start to finish, nothing was a problem. The venue was very clean, the food was lovely & all electronical equipment needed was there. I really give 5 stars but this time it is well deserved.

We attended the Diggers for a belated Secret Santa on Friday 30th. We arrived after the hosts, before most of the guests. The table, though set, was Velcro sticky with food litter strewn under and around Our resident RAE (ret'd) was a tad taken aback that only Centrelink benefit concession cards were accepted; no discount for VA cards at this RSL His decision to check out traditional bangers and mash really finished him off. He ate most of the hours old, dried out stuff on his plate (he is after all, ex-army) but I believe him when he says he ate better on weeklong manoeuvres. It's a shame, because we used to frequent this club a decade ago. My salad was delicious but the ratios were wonky. My son had what looked like an entire avocado on top; I found less than a handful of bits after digging. I also got about ten bucks worth of salad leaves. We both ended up with doggyboxes. I must add my salad made for a delicious picking at, and sides for lunch the next day. We understand the holiday season can push an establishment into overdrive and the very young staff did well enough. Not planning to go back in a hurry though. PS Dear Management. If I could pick one issue, and one only, I'd ask that you consider accepting VA cards for concessional meals. Thanks. Otherwise, the auto "we get 4 or 5 stars ... please ring us" response doesn't really cut it; just reflects on the level of detachment
