Berry Hotel reviews

5 Star Review by Fi Shep

We decided to stop and have lunch during a drive through Berry on a weekday and this pub did not disappoint at all! The service was super easy and really friendly and the meals arrived quickly! There was room to sit inside next to the open log fire, however we opted for the covered dining area at the back and there was plenty of room. There is one small step at the entrance then access through the pub is all on one level for those with limited mobility and there is a childrens playground that is also easily accessible and visible through the back area. The menu had multiple options, we had a steak sandwich and a pulled por roll, both came with a reasonable deriving of fries in the side. After trying quite a few lunch places in Berry this will be our regular from now on! :)

Amazing atmosphere. The staff were courteous and helped us select from their specials (definitely recommend). The food was well cooked and served rather quickly despite the volume of order prior to ours. Pricing was okay but well worth it. Will be visiting again.

Husband and I hesitated at the street entrance due to lack of buzz as other eating establishments had. We ventured inside to discover a fantastic venue, meal and staff attitude. My nachos were perfect with the pulled beef and ample toppings on generous amounts of corn chips. Husband declared it the best steak sandwich in years where the bun actually had sufficient integrity to be hand held and the steak tender enough to be bitten through and not requiring deconstruction or knife and fork to consume. We have paid equal amounts for far inferior fare in various eateries around the country. Finally a shout out to the cheery staff member who took our orders and also cleared tables. Her positive attitude put a good vibe spin on a gloomy rainy day.

Gorgeous old restored building. Very polite service. Our mulled wine was delicious. We drank it slowly looking out at the cold grey street. Then we were on our way

Lovely lady greeted us and served us at the counter. Later went to check on the status of my food / kids meal. The lady bringing out the food came out unhappy saying its only been 15 mins. I was only politely checking on the status, no need to be hostile. Edit to reply to the admins comments: Overall, food and drinks were great. Our friends who ordered after us got their meals around 10 mins before us. I wasnt there to complain about the timing, I genuinely considered that its possible that the buzzer wasnt working. Coincidentally, the lady who went to check on the food brought it out straight away.

Good food and atmosphere. Would have given 5 stars if you still had the Alpaca burger.

This was a very nice venue. Friendly service, tasty food & not outrageously expensive. Nice atmosphere, well worth a visit when on Berry.

Sad to say the calamari was a very small serve and quite flavourless. Bit disappointed. We had eaten two small pieces when this photo was taken. They make a nice hot chip.
