New Ivanhoe Hotel reviews
1 Star Review by Mark Wood
Rude staff. No that's not right. I really mean really rude staff. On top of that their grill was not available during dinner, so only non meat items were available. I had a chicken burger which was hands down the worst meal I've eaten since before COVID. Among its greatest deficiencies was the sauce that was (without any exaggeration) so salty that it burned my tongue and overpowered the taste of anything else I was eating including the chicken fillet and the chips. To top it off, the prices were straight out of an episode Sale of the Century. I ended up paying more than thirty dollars for a burger and chips and an orange juice. This pub used to be a great spot for a bit of dinner. I don't know what happened whether they have new management or what, but they have sure taken a hard turn sharp south! Give this one a miss. There are plenty more great spots to eat in the area.

Great service! Came in a big group and floor staff were diligent and very accommodating! food was delicious (especially the lamb shank) and was even better along side a nice cold beer! The verandah was nice and toasty and was very inviting after a cold afternoon. Couldnt recommend the Ivanhoe more it is Ivanhoe is integral to any blackheath trip!

Been here a few times since I moved away from blackheath 12 years ago. Hasn't changed at all in 20 years and I love it for it. Good pub food, friendly staff, and cosy atmosphere. If you're passing through Blackheath its well worth grabbing lunch here.

We had a weekend in Blackheath staying at an AirBnB. Visited this great little pub that had just been taken over by new owners. It was the friendliest service I've had for a long while - nothing was too much trouble and they were so hospitable - the "Scottish lassy" was unreal! Highly recommend a visit!

Didn't stay at the hotel but the food was great! It was a bit heavy so I wasn't able to finish but otherwise a nice old themed atmosphere! The food did take a bit of time to come though.

No more pies!! So devo! It was always my favourite place in the Mountains to stop for a pie but they don't "do them anymore and haven't for some time". Such a pity. It was literally thevonly reason i went there. Either way the beer was cold and the chips were hot and salty. I commend the new chef as the quality is clearly there, but please consider bringing back the pies!

Great pub! My fave local to wander over to for a glass of red wine and the ridiculously good sticky date or post climbing beers!
4 Star Review by Peter Bennett
We went for a meal and really enjoyed the veggie burger and the baked broccoli and pumpkin dishes. Excellent quality and unusual food for a pub.

Just bought a carton of beer there. The lady could not find the price, so picked up a calculator and multiplied bottle price by 24 bottles. She then just appeared to knock off $6. I question this and was reluctant to pay - in the end I did. On the way out I checked the four pack price and realised she had overcharged me by $6. I then said this is a whole carton, what is the carton price? She refused to tell me the carton price but refunded $6 at any rate She was argumentative and I was a little concerned as she had just made up the price in the first place. This is not good enough

It is under new owners and they are working hard to upgrade the hotel so has work going on in the bar etc. Will be great when the work is completed.
