Hydro Majestic Hotel - Blue Mountains reviews

The Hydro Majestic is my favourite all time hotel. Three years ago my husband proposed to me at the hotel and we came back to hold our wedding. It was a dream come true!! It was the perfect setting and all our guests loved it. The indoor and outdoor spaces are magical and beautiful. I am privileged to stay in the gorgeous building and it was breathtaking to walk through in my wedding dress. The rooms were wonderful, clean and very comfortable. The service was exceptional, the food was delicious big thanks to the chef, the staff were accommodating and went above and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel to family, friends and anyone visiting the Blue Mountains.

We enjoyed the loveliest High Tea in the Wintergarden. The food, presentation and service was excellent. Staff were very friendly and attentive but not intrusive. We had more than enough to eat, in fact we brought the selection of petite cakes home with us for later. They too were delicious. The view over the Valley is stunning. Thank you for a memorable visit. Will definitely return with friends.

Beautiful setting. We finished a beautiful hike and came to the hydro for a drink and to watch the sun go down. If you are thinking of something similar I would suggest booking a table as only 3-4 get a good view. There is also a beautiful fireplace to warm the bones. Drinks are very expensive though but well worth it for the experience. The view is one of the best in NSW.

Rooms are small however that's a reflection of the time when the hotel was built. Lovely interesting decor throughout the hotel. Great views. Breakfast at $39 per person was overpriced. Better value breakfasts available elsewhere. Staff were attentive and meals for our function were good but a little on the small side. Lots of activities in the area but the weather was quite wet while we were there.

We had high tea with the most beautiful view here. Couldnt fault it. The customer service, high tea selection and portions were spot on and the ambience was on point. Perhaps if I found one tiny thing - the music was very loud half way through our sitting but Im sure that was a simple bump of the volume control as it wasnt for the whole sitting. Maybe the last 45min or so. I would highly recommend going here for high tea. We loved it.

My friend who lives locally invited me to dinner here recently. I wasn't really sure what he had in mind but once we entered the large dining room of the Winter Garden of this iconic hotel I realized that I was in for something really special - and that on my last evening in Australia before returning to Europe the next day. We even sat at a table next to the huge picture window with fabulous views over the Blue Mountains. The whole hotel complex is situated on the escarpment edge overlooking the Megalong Valley. Watching the sunset from here was a fantastic bonus. The meal itself was definitely of haut cuisine quality. I'm just so disappointed that I didn't fully register what we enjoyed. I recall a starter with red fish eggs and the main course was beef. For the dessert we had a chocolate based treat. All prepared and presented very nicely - certainly a gourmet evening meal. Service was highly professional and very discreet. In fact the whole evening was a big, positive surprise. Of course such luxury doesn't come cheap but fortunately my friend insisted on picking up the bill.

Didn't stay, just walked through and had a cappuchino in the lounge. Friendly staff. Fascinating place, loved it, and the views.
