The Milton Hotel reviews
5 Star Review by Dane Pidgeon
The food here is truly incredible. I can't believe a cabbage can taste so good. You can honestly eat it as a whole meal. The wagyu is also amazing. The in-house beers are good too. Can't speak higher of the food here. When I walked in for the first time I was expecting it to be the usual pub food and was a little surprised when I first saw the menu but wow... these guys know what they are doing. And it's well priced for the quality of meal you're getting. The staff have always been friendly. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you're up for an awesome feed and beer.

I'm not one to give reviews, but this would have to be one of the best meals we've had in a very long time. The Wagyu beef and scallops were cooked perfectly and the wood fire vegetables were brilliant. Washed down with the locally brewed beer was the topping.

Amazing venue. Fitout looks incredible. Beers were sensational. Customer Service, rubbish. When tourism is your lifeblood, you should aim to make your guests feel welcome. This didn't happen. I won't be going back for that reason and that reason alone
3 Star Review by Jamie McGahey
Good beer But waited 35 mins and no one came to our table to take out order So we finished our beer and left Nice place Great beer But definitely need to prepare better staff wise so they can handle the influx on weekends. And staff that are working should be more efficient, Or dont tell people to take a seat and we will be with you shortly if you cant meet that statement.

Wonderful all round!

When the chef flat out refused to cook one of my parties wagyu as well done I was aghast (never in my time of frequenting steak houses have I experienced this) although assumed my medium rare wagyu would be amazing. Unfortunately, it was incredibly chewy, tough and not well cooked. I can not for the life of me understand how a chef who arrogantly refuses to cook a meal the way a patron requests it (we were advised the fish could also only be cooked medium at most and there was no budging on this either) can get it so wrong when cooking it their way. The rest of our food was absolutely amazing but unfortunately the good does not outweigh the bad and we will not be back. There are many more reasonable, accomodating places to eat in the region.

Fabulous! Order the sashimi and a beer brewed on site

Dinner last night for 5. What a treat. This is prime holiday time and the place was chokers, even the long wait for food was not a problem because when it arrived it was exceptional. Pork delicious and beautifully cooked and presented, Wagyu again perfectly cooked (these guys know how to cook Wagyu to perfection) and the mustard greens the ideal partner for the rich flavour of the beef. Fish went down a treat again perfectly cooked remaining moist delicious. Sashimi more entree size than main but truely delicious and the parsley oil perfect match and superbly executed, we ordered 2 serves of fries as usually they come small and smaller serves, amazingly large serves far too many but somehow we managed to eat all but a few. Service was great especially considering how crazyily busy they were. From the above you may get the impression that we loved the place. We did. A noisy night but we loved it, and not one person at this table was under 70 (70 is the new 50 you know) Great great food, we shall be back many times. Congratulations

Delicious. We loved the lamb shoulder, bbq eggplant and flatbread. Can't wait to go back. Beer, brewed on site, was fantastic too.
