Imperial Hotel MOUNT VICTORIA reviews

4 Star Review by Iain Dewar

We stopped off here on a tour for lunch. I was a bit sceptical when we showed up outside it. Normally places have a faux old look about them, this place just looked like nothing had been done to it for a 100 years! However, to my surprise my fish and chips were very good and i was impressed.

Abysmal experience. Blood on the sheets, no toilet paper in bathrooms, no staff available throughout the night (and in the morning to check out for 8am). Was not able to pay while checking in and could not afford to wait for someone to wake up (no contact details at reception) so instead of chasing it up politely I was passed onto Katoomba Police to harass me for payment. Tried contacting them multiple times by phone prior and was left on hold each time. Absolutely do not recommend based on this experience.

Good luck trying to get a reservation, called 5 times each time told to call back as the person was the only one in the bar and too busy to take bookings. Really bad look for Tourism when your too busy to actually take bookings. AVOID!!!!

Great place to stop on your mountains drive. Better pricing than a lot of cafes and upmarket hotels in the area ... plus it's a pub ;)
