We had 2 nights in the budget twin room. The experience was not a good one. However they do say it is "Budget" "Backpacker" style accommodation but after staying in many backpackers I can say these rooms fall well short. The room is very small (3M x 3M)but ignoring that. The shower window would not shut, so a constant very cold breeze as you are showering or using the WC. The kettle provided had to be balanced on the edge of the sink (not safe) to use. They did provide cups, tea coffee etc. but no Tea Spoon! had to use a tooth brush. and only 2 power sockets, again over the sink. Room was quite shabby and with 2 suitcases there was no room, had to enter and leave via the little hanging closet area. The door to the room had a very temperamental lock which took plenty of coaxing to open. Once in and re arranged luggage made the tea (without getting electrocuted), the heater worked well. Overall shabby room. The food was mediocre to say the least and due to staff shortages I had the feeling the poor staff were well overworked. I would suggest limiting occupancy if not enough staff. Generally the staff were friendly and tried their best. We were told that the restaurant seating was rotated. If you were at the back one night you would have a front table next. We ended up in the back both nights! We had chose the 8:30 breakfast sitting both mornings but found a lot of the buffet disappeared well before 9 a.m. In summation not worth anywhere near the Au$500 per night. Stay somewhere else!!

We were so well looked after in this cosy hotel right on the slopes! My wife has a dietary requirement and restaurant staff went above and beyond cheerfully to accommodate. The drying and locker rooms are very conveniently located to get ready and onto the snow! Cosy fire near reception and a classy restaurant and bar. We would stay here again.

Very disappointed with the staff here, unaware that there was no parking overnight at the hotel and when I spoke to the hotel about the fact that prior to booking the accomodation online there was no information about that informed me the staff member thought she would argue with me about it and became very rude. I would not recommend staying here for the price having to leave your vehicle at the ski tube and catch this back and fourth to get you car. Especially with a large family.

For the manager: Franz would never have run the Manor like this and I think, he would be incredibly disappointed and so should you. In short: Consider elsewhere - The Man, Sundeck, Maritz, Eiger.. basically anywhere. Longer version: I was a customer at the Manor since 2015, I have stayed on about 6 different occasions. My family have been visiting intermittently since the 1990's and spoke very highly of this hotel until now. This time was the most disappointing and expensive. The prices have continued to rise over the years although, this year the service was appalling for the price I paid. I understand inflation however, there should be no decrease in service for what it costs to stay here. $3000 for 5 nights (accom, breakfast and dinner inc.) is a big splurge for me and my partner and I expect the service to reflect the cost of staying here. This was the first time my partner had been here, I have been raving about the Manor since we met five years ago and wanted to treat us to a week here. Two days in a row they ran out of breakfast and we ended up going over to the Perisher centre to buy food, their response was "sorry". It wasn't until we made a complaint to the front desk, something we have never had to do here and something I've never done before, that they explained that the cook for breakfast had been fired. There was no offer of credit to our account for the cost of breakfast. I also find it hard to believe they can run out of breakfast items, the Foodworks at the Skitube station has all breakfast ingredients, go buy some - its not like the hotel can't afford it. Each dinner was tasty, some better than others but the food is definitely not to the standard in previous years. More disappointing was the service with waiting very excessive times for the courses to come out and having to ask for bread and wine lists/drink orders. I won't be back and neither will my family, they stayed in a separate room and received the same service. There are other options on the mountain which may not have as nicer dinners, but they also don't charge $18 for a single beer that you can buy for $45 a case anywhere in Australia. Even bars around the mountain are only charging $9-$12 for a schooner. The Manor needs to have a think about where they are headed, I couldn't care less about the location if I can stay somewhere else for cheaper, even if only marginally so, and actually get the food that we paid for, some decent service from staff that seem to actually care, and reasonably priced drinks (even for an alpine area). In previous years the Manor felt like a premium hotel even though the rooms are 1 star, this is no more. Now it just feels like an absolute waste of money which makes you feel great about having a winter holiday in Australian alps. I'm happy to walk an extra 200m to accomodation in future years or pay the $10 for oversnow to not stay here anymore. We usually stay in ski clubs at Hotham now given it's our closest mountain, I would rather for $1000 for a week as a visitor to a ski club and cook our own food than fork out $3k for this - hopefully that makes others consider other options.

Location, staff and food are excellent. Rooms are a bit old and ours was small, but super convenient and the meals are absolutely fantastic.
