Cypress Lakes Resort reviews
5 Star Review by Veronica Bree
We stayed in a 1 bedroom villa, the views were lovely. Sitting out on the deck enjoying the peace and quiet was something we really welcome especially when accompanied with cheese and wine. The rooms themselves are spacious, the bathroom is a little outdated but that didn't bother us much. The beds are comfortable and the staff are friendly and helpful, plus there is a resort bus which will pick you up from your room and take you to the resort restaurant which is excellent.

This has to be the worst place I have ever stayed. We booked a 2 x bedroom villa which was an absolute disappointment. The room was filthy, cobwebs everywhere, mould in bathrooms, full of dust and it had a foul smell from all the build up of dirt in the carpets. It was so bad that from the minute we walked it my 3 year old started having an asthma attack and we all could not stop sneezing. We tried to use our phone to call reception but the phone line was disconnected. We made a complaint to the front desk - they then sent someone to come and wipe down the surfaces which didn't make a difference. Sleeping in the beds we all became so itchy it's almost like there was either bed bugs or dust mites. In the morning we complained again and they offered us two different rooms to view to relocate. One of the rooms was certainly in better shape so we chose to stay in that one. It did have new carpet and didn't have that old dust smell but still the rooms need a major deep clean. If the weather was safe to drive i would have just packed my bags and left there on the first night. Considering the terrible facilities the staff were very accommodating and apologetic so we are thankful for that but I would not recommend this place nor would i return.

Very old tired buildings, grounds were lovely , but all the units were very apart , use of golf carts would be amazing to get around, otherwise get your hiking gear or drive to your abode. Food was fairly low standard also , long queues to order and hard to organize drinks with your meal. Overall Im sure its got amazing potential just needs a redo. Also nothing to do for kids, even the pool had no appeal . I wont be staying here again unless its a bachelor night or a boys weekend, but with family no chance.

Customer service was brilliant. Our booking had the wrong date and the wonderful reservation employee Christipher at the desk was so patient and accommodating. He fixed everything for us and my stress levels went down. Gave us the most beautiful villa and made sure we had everything we needed. Will definitely be back! Ask for Christopher

Very quiet, remote, holiday inn in a country location surrounded by nearby vineyards. Better suited to adults. Has a golf course and swimming pool. Dining area has good Wi-Fi but the signal drops out in the chalet accommodation which surrounds the complex. Food service is great, especially the buffet breakfast. Reasonably priced.

The restaurant is dir for. The chicken curry will bring you back to Sri Lanka. The Executive Chef Vinura De Silvaknows his way around great food. A must dining experience.

Quite happy with our stay over the Christmas holiday. The room quality was reasonably okay. But there were only a limited number of staff. There was an issue with a stove in the villa we stayed. They couldn't fix it. The golf course is very nice. Good location close to Hunter valley wineries.

Great place for dinner, had the exceptionally good pork chop, juicy tasty - Amazing... not something I would usually pick as they can be dry and tough, the flavour was something else 5*
