I'm reviewing the Royal Hotel purely as a Bar and Pub restaurant. We enjoyed a family afternoon here taking advantage of their Monday deals. I had the chicken schnitzel which was excellent both in taste, portion size and value. Even the children's meal that arrived would have been enough for me Oh, and the decor was lovely and spotlessly clean. Will definitely be back

what a grim job they have done on the pub part of this glorious old hotel. ripped out all the character. totally antiseptic interior. easy to clean maybe. not one interesting feature. Sydney hotel design at its clueless worst. I'd passed many times and wondered what this beautiful building offered on the inside. should have kept driving.

On a day trip from Cronulla to see a movie at the Ritz. The hotel was our choice for lunch. Couldn't fault anything. Decor, food and drink the best. Service was great. My husband and I thought the hotel a great place to stay instead of the city. Close to the beach and services into the city.

I am a Randwick local. I've been dining at the Royal for 6yrs. Tonight was the worst meal I've ever eaten there. Ordered the sticky pork belly and it arrived looking like a piece of wood! The meat was crusted and so dry it felt and looked like string! The manager was apologetic and sorted a round of drinks. Very disappointed.
