Intercontinental Sydney reviews
4 Star Review by Clement Chan
I had made a reservation at this hotel, unaware that it was undergoing renovations until an email I received notifying me two weeks before my arrival. The highlights: the location cannot be beat, if you want to be in the heart of Circular Quay and be close to the Sydney Opera House, The Rocks, and the Harbour Bridge. The staff were also pleasant and nice. There were also lovely touches of modern improvements, which I appreciate: 1. For example, when tapping your key card in an elevator, the floor you need to go to is automatically chosen. Such a simple thing yet it goes a long way. 2. As you enter the refurbished guest room for the first time, the blinds part, revealing a gorgeous view of the harbour. While the poolwhich used to have a gorgeous view of the Sydney Opera Houseand fitness center are being renovated, those facilities are not available to be used. In fact, the replacement gym is nothing more than a ballroom housing just a pittance of a selection of fitness equipment (though a Peloton bike is included). I also wished that there was a bathtub in our guest room. I felt like I had an incomplete experience staying here while renovations are ongoing. If the location thats right smack in the heart of Circular Quay is important to youdespite the ongoing refurbishmentsthis would be a great place for you. However, Id personally only stay here once the renovations are complete.

Its somehow sad to leave this fantastic hotel. I suppose we came right time after the renovation. We started at level 28 and we loved the view. The breakfast was presented as one of the best levels we had seen before even though the service and the menu can be improved but we liked the experience in total. The roof bar is a must and the location was the best we could imagine. We will be back
2 Star Review by Peter Hollands
When you select 2 stars, the website confirms that you mean, just okay. You know what, thats perfect, I agree. This hotel was just okay. Staff were friendly but honestly please stop giving me the story like Ive never been to a hotel before. No sheers in the rooms. The choice is either blackout curtains, or direct eye contact with some corporate person while youre meant to be sitting privately on youre bed. Thirdly, had some luggage bought up to my room. Was very, very timely. In fact too timely. The staff member knocked on my door, to which Id just arrived. And before I could response walked straight into my room! Seconds at best. This hotel needs fixing, Ill never be back.

I love love this hotel! I have stayed there for 3 nights and it gave me homey vibes! The renovated rooms are fantastic and the shampoo/body lotions smells AMAZING! The location is the best part as its only a couple of minutes walk to the opera house! The view and service is impeccable! I cannot wait to stay at the intercontinental again!

Clean and luxurious hotel that is a stones throw from Circular Quay and all the Sydney CBD has to offer. Easy to access via train, bus, light rail or ferry with a range of rooms to suit all travellers. The staff were extremely friendly and the room was spotless. Whilst we didn't try the food we did stop by the lounge bar for a drink and were impressed by the old school charm and comfortable lounge chairs. Overall a great luxury hotel

1 Star Review by James
I spent 3 nights in this hotel on christmas season. I already paid through the travel agency but when I checked in, they wanted to pay again. It wasn't even the same price as the reservation but I just trusted them .So I paid again. Because They said online booking payment gonna be canceled automatically But I found out that I paid double after a while. So I went to them and told them over and over again, but they said it couldn't be. But finally he noticed his mistake, but he did not apologize I can't believe it, but he said good news because he checked we double pay There was no refund until we checked out and they only gave me the paper . We don't have to pay when I checked in, but they didn't believe me that I already paid so I paid double. Although the double payment was not refunded, they wanted to pay the hotel service straightly my partner finally cried. They thought It is not a big deal How can I let you know my booking details? I don't want to leave my details here
